Well recently I have not been enjoying my bike because it seem that it cant be put to neutral while stationary. It can only be after I off the engine.

Anyone know how much to change to a new gearbox? where can I get the new gearbox? lastly is Ah Seng good for the job?

Maybe you can try to rev your bike slightly and then kick to neutral when stationary..

Hi, my bike is nearing 50k kms already. Was wondering how much a typical top end rebuild cost (block + piston + gasket + bearings)?

 

What brand of pistons is recommended? (wossner, vertex?)

 

And typically, how long does it take to do the entire service? I know Ah Seng very busy always, so I'm guessing turn around time is around 2 weeks? Just trying to ask around here before going to shop just to have an idea on how much damage I will be facing!

So far i have yet to met anyone changing to a totally 'new' gearbox but i believe it will set you back a few thousand dollars.

 

A few options you can try is,

 

1) Changing to a full synthetic gear oil such as Maxima,

- I recently experience this issue when i switch from Maxima to a non fully synthetic gear oil

 

2) Give yr bike a quick rev/blip to around 3k rpm and kick up the gear from 1 to neutral.

We were all p-platers once. Please do not feel sorry for asking stupid questions. We only flame you if you spread stupid misconceptions without doing your homework.

 

It sounds like it could be any of the above problems. I could have said the same thing- water in petrol tank or carb, clutch cable too much freeplay and/or idle too low (could be both), or carb needs a check-up.

 

Listen to liquidy. He's made a very good point. Ah Seng of 37 Motoring is a good place to start.

 

Alright man, thanks. Turns out it was the cdi that was faulty. i had to push the bike all the way to the nearest bike shop nearby at the industrial park

gd morning aprilians! i got a qns to ask.. when does the low fuel indicator light up? i read from the manual stating that the reserve uses the last 3.5L..but i manage to pump 13L on rs125..manual states full tank is 14L +/- 0.5 ..so i wondering is my fuel indicator spoil?
