i think that is a koso meter

It is 'KOSO' meter. AND it is on all x-hot 150 from the factory stock.

Hmm... what is the test being done for?

Test your quarter mile speed(400) and 0-100kmh speed. How many secs the bike takes to complete.

Let's u know how you compare to other vehicles in terms of pickup and standard drag racing distance.

What i'm not sure is, is the x-hot that HQ brings in having the same exact meter.

Y everyone like to know how "Fast" and not how "Safe"... Anyway 150cc scooter how fast u 1 2 go?

:thumb:

well.. basically max RPM right now is about 8500... top speed (on the meter) is about 115... actually can go more but might need to drag longer... so basically, 0-100 is fast enough to smoke some taxi/bus... 0-400 is meaningless to me actually :D

all I know is... the rear disc is really really a plus.... but the tyres are really really slipper (wet), and the suspensions could be better (front too soft/ rear quite stiff but not stable... high speed corners the bike wobbles like snake sia)

pick up wise... ok lah... might try lighter rollers (Alvin!!! :D).. but I am more concerned with the acceleration on the move... like maybe you are already travelling 70... but need to overtake... the stock setting seems to take a little longer to get to, say, 90 or so...

With the storage space and being able to Flintstoning the bike during traffic jam are SUPERB :thumb:

Because i know that the brakes and tyres on my gmax are as "safe" as it can get for a reasonable price margin.

I just recently changed my worn out tyres and brake pads to michelin pilot sports and goldfren Sintered racing pads. That's ive done for passive safety precaution. What about you? I would like to know what other 'safety' info you can share. :)

No la i can share here. I changed my michelins at limahboy. $160, 130/60/13 front and rear. But the workshop service quite slow, just prepare more time and go earlier.

For the pads i went to FJT they carry Goldfren brake pads. I used S3 racing sintered up front and normal ceramic carbon at rear. $20 F and $15 R. Self install.

Next i plan to change my brake master cylinder to one with a smaller piston diameter for more braking power. Maybe change to wave/sp one if its smaller.

Given same caliper a smaller M/C will brake harder given less lever input but more lever travel. I prefer this kind of setup for more modulation.

I already have a HJC FF. I love strong brakes cos my prev bike i mod to hayabusa tokico 6pot caliper. Really stop at a snap of a finger, so i always welcome more.

I must admit the stock brakes are alr very decent after changing pads which is probably the reason why i bought a gmax in the first place. =0)

Hi... Anyone here know anything about the power consumtion characteric of the G-Max200? I brought a new Yuasa battery to replaced the old one. However, one day after using the new battery for about 3 months, i tried to start my bike at my work place after work and found that the battery is too weak to start the motor. Anyone here experience the same thing? Is the bike draining the electrical power when stationary?

Posted (edited)

I have disconnected the underseat compartment light. I aslo noted the idling voltage is ok about 13.8V. However when I turn the throttle, the voltage when down below 12V. That means the batt is not charging when travelling right? Is this condition normal? or it happen to all the G-max 200?

In some cases, this could be due to the rectifier or megneto coil faulty. Or the battery is an OEM Yuasa battery which is faulty after using for few months. Normally healthy batteries could last up to 2 yrs.

The battery does not store enough current to start up the bike, if parked over long period of time, it is advisable to disconnect the battery terminals to avoid battery current drainage.

I would suggest to have ur bike checked at HQ.

Disconnecting the underseat light is not going to help, G-Max 200 comes with a function which the light will turn "off" after 1 min if the seat is not closed, & ignition switch turned to "on" position while seat is opened, the light will go "off" as well. Try this on ur bike.

If the current drops below 12V when throttle is turned on, that means is either the battery is faulty or the rectifier is faulty & not charging back current to the battery. Normal battery current reading should be 14V for all G-Max 200 models.

Noticed our thread title has changed. Anyway my new found happiness with michelin pilot sports was cut short today when a piece of pen knife lodged itself between the threads of my rear tyre. No choice very heartpain and chose to have it fixed up with a tyre repair kit. Had used two strips of worm to fill it up as it was a large cut. Shall see how long it holds up. If it goes i'll change to continental contisport attack and let you guys know how is it=)
