Aftermarket 4v cams are a rarity even in taiwan.

I think it's a bad idea to change to a performance cam as most of them are tailored to high rpm operation, if u choose do so you will have really crappy mid to low end power.

Suggest you do the cvt transmission to compensate for the low end instead. Get a NCY cvt kit or something similiar. Search seller "Autotech355" on ebay.

Ahhh....Carlos....yes I know him :-)....will check out his store.

What do you consider high RPM? Most of my riding is done in the 6k-10k rpm range.

You might get some gains in that range but taking off 2k - 6k will be much worse. Highly recommended u take the path that all others have taken, use only parts that are specifically made and pick/play with the combination frm variators to springs to belts.

When u do a custom exhaust you don't know if u have it done right. I put on a generic exhaust and spent alot of time chasing my tail looking for other parts to make up for the lost acceleration caused by the str8 thru exhaust(lack of backpressure). Now i have binned it and put the stock exhaust back on while waiting for an aftermarket model specific one from taiwan.

If you want to start small, do the cvt first, Hit clutch, variator, torque springs, roller weights, etc.. If you want to touch on the engine, recommended you do everything at one go, big bore, stroker, big valve heads, race cams carb and exhaust. Then readjust the cvt system to suit.

Hi guys.need ur expert advice.currently looking to trade my x9 for another scoot.so now still can't decide which to get. How's the gmax?how big is the tank n can go how far per tank. Wat other pgo scoots r with the buy.

Exhaust system was made to measure by a an exhaust shop that specialises in motorcycles (they don't do cars). Presently the OEM clutch doesn't start to grab until 4,000rpm (it idles between 1,500-2,000rpm) so I've only got 2,000 that I have to worry about. If there are no aftermarket 4V cams available, then my only choice will be to grab anouther OEM one & get it reprofiled (something I can easily get done).

The bigger issue at the moment is not enough background knowledge on the ECU MPI have used. Looking at their website only gives a basic layout of what sensors are utilised. I basically have two options - either fit an interceptor computer or run the LINK V2 computer that was in a turboed D-Max I had. I need to make sure that the factory fuel fuel curve is suitable for the pipe. If the scooter ran a MAF instead of MAP sensor I'd be less concerned with fuelling issues. This is why I've not done anything yet to remove any intake restriction. Having played with a lot of EFI cars was why the X-Hot was such an attractive proposition for me.....like working with a modern car, just that it only has one cylinder.

Ask carlos about the 4v cam. If not i can give you the email of the guy i usually get my stuff from. Maybe after u have solved the efi issues u can do a super charger?

I was considering an RHB31 turbo down the track - what's available in the way of small superchargers suitable for this size engine?

I am riding a gmax 200. So far in terms of FC, I can get abt 36km/L. Normally, I will top up when the petrol gauge is blinking and top up abt 5.5L of petrol. So one full tank almost abt 195km. HTHs

The smallest commercially available supercharger i know of is the aisin amr300 from the subaru vivio 660. As the name suggests the volume capacity is 300cc, maybe playing with the pulley ratios you can start from turning it at near half the nominal speed. However you'll be needing to run a pulley off the variator or flywheel side and might meet with clearance or fitment issues.

If going turbo, forget about any regular car turbos, you need something purpose built and tiny. Something like this(http://www.mbe-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21/products_id/265)

And if u can get it to make boost at the stall speed, the rpm which the engine stays where u load it/wot(ard 6000rpm-7000rpm), it might work. You need a forged crank like mine and preferably a forged piston and then lowered compression.

I suggest that you make that custom ecu mapping option work first, then the engine internals, then the turbo and exhaust piping to suit. Decide if are going to turbo it early so u know which direction you are heading.

I do not know alot but hope i'd be of help, all the best and i hope you'll succeed.(I'll copy your setup in a heartbeat if it works:))
