hhmmm . . . me a bit confuse, tried looking for info on the new wing, not much . . . or i don;t know how to find?

so can still buy the old swing which was about 13k OTR? shops still selling old ones, but forumers here all selling 12k+ for used ones.

any discussion thread on the new 400T? i tried search but don't have leh

there's nothing much available in the webby...

this should be useful http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4831886&postcount=5834

new 08/09 models FJS... even if the motortiams have, dun think they'll sell at around 13k anymore, unless clearing old stock at a much later time. even so, dun expect price to be like $3k+ off the SWT4 :p

if you're interested in a used SW, there's a 22k kms SW (think should be a euro) on sale at $8k negotiable

Got SW for sale again:

Honda Silverwing 400

Year 2007

Black Colour

Hepco and Becker Box (Journey Model)

Mileage about 22000km

Bike is fully paid. Cash only.

8k negotiable

got a question? try do a search and you're very likely to find an answer somewhere in this thread (there's a same one for 2008) and the our SW technical thread :p

but for a start, let me answer your queries...

there's only 1 cabin light at the left rear corner, stock config coz some bros mod additional LED lights just below seat.

however, many of us disabled it coz if the sensor (to off the light when seat closed) fails, then light will drain your battery continuously. 1 nite maybe ok (cos magneto will charge the batt once you ride bike the next day), but leave it a few days your batt sure go flat. a matter of personal choice.

to start the engine, make sure side stand is up and depress the left brake level (right is not necessary) till you hear a soft click* sound from the sensor area below the left brake reservoir. it could be that you've not squeezed in enough or worst, sensor is faulty.

* actually, you should hear 2 soft clicks; 1st click when brake lights are activated, depress further and 2nd click appears, to "enable" starter coil.

Got problem with the pickup.

Don't think it is the rollers cos changed 6k ago.

Should be the clutch.

Used to move off betw 2k to 2.5k rpm.

Now is 3k to 3.5k rpm and very draggy and noisy.

High speed remains normal but acceleration response affected.

Hope it is not the same as Scooby's previous final transmission problem... ewwww. No mid-year bonus = eat grass at cow's junior liao.

hmmm... probable

try removing the springs and turning the clutch pegs one by one while still in their pivots; the pegs should swing freely in place. if pegs are jammed or cannot swing freely (possibly due to accumulation of dirt at the pivots), higher centrifugal force (thus higher revs) is required to push the clutch pegs out (against the spring and friction at pivot). remove the pegs from the pivots, clean the contact surfaces, light grease and put back. check that pegs can swing smoothly before putting back the springs.

and of course, if clutch "skin" kenna makan already, change the clutch set (5 pegs) :p

How can I improve the performance of my silverwing 400, I think the 135 cc cub next lane can pick up faster than me, most of the time need to move with half throttle, the acceleration is really too slow. what can I do?

Don't like noise exhast, any other magic anyone? Thanks!

Don't like noise exhast, any other magic anyone? Thanks!

only magic i know is to change bike :cheeky:

first, to set the expectations right... our SW cannot pick up as fast as the "mosquito bikes" (especially the malaysian modded ones), even with radical mods that burn holes in the pocket :p

SW weighs 228kg (dry) while a cub only around 75kg (dry), huge deadweight difference of >150kg. its like a heavy 1.8L auto Stream vs. a 1L manual Getz where the lighter manual trans car will always spear ahead when lights turn green before the heavier bigger cc auto car overtakes it. different story for race bikes/cars but the SW is a touring maxi-scoot, not meant for racing.

see Silverwing 400cc / 600cc Tech Corner (http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/images/misc/multipage.gif 1 2) post #53 for ideas to improve performance (power)

some easy stuffs to boost low end performance... but PAP lor :D

+ change exhaust to leo vince full system

+ change spark plugs to iridium or other racing plugs

+ change to high performance distribution wires

+ use PA auto & PA ignite (similar or VS or Revtec)

+ change to lighter rollers

+ change to malossi multivar variator set

+ low windshield to reduce wind drag

+ no top box to reduce wind drag

+ use lighter eo

+ use fuel addictives such as FP60, octane booter, etc

+ use high octane gasoline such as caltex platinum or shell V-power

+ use K&N air filter

+ tune your engine to slightly richer

:goodluck:
