Nowadays hor, bike shop usually quote without the insurance cos that's the only variable based on individual.

Me just suffered a left knee sprain today (minor dislocation... joint pop out and back in again).

Now hobbling with leg. Hope can recover by Wednesday or lastest Thursday.

Arboh, how to travel over the weekend? Caving = cannot liao but hotspring still ok.

guess what? you can change the insignia to the old "Silver Wing" if don't like the "SW-T400" wordings, can buy/order the insignias from FJT but heard it costs kui chap kor

i happen to call BS to check some parts so took opportunity to get some info on the new SWT:

 

Silver Wing SW-T400... if i were to buy

+ machine price: $13,650

+ GST for machine: $955.50

+ COE: $1,300 (last result was $1,251)

+ insurance: $580 (comprehensive based on age >40, experience >15, 20% NCD)

+ road tax $55 or $110 (6 or 12 months)

+ registration fee $140

+ IU about $155.80 incl. GST & installation at Vicom

+ other fees (e.g. loan admin fee)

+ givi maxia basic top box & baseplate: $330

+ bid for registration plate: $1,500???

 

+ here + there comes to about $18.8k

Have to cancel this Ipoh trip liao.

Cannot walk properly or defend myself. Don't wanna be sitting duck in another country.

My usual 'poke-eye-kick-groin-takedown and penalty kick' is seriously compromised. Now left with 'poke eye-grab-groin' nia. so sad.

 

Anyway, looking forward to Nov Thailand trip then.

what i know is AR2 Performance is doing RACEshield for Headlamps.

last known price was $65 but i'm not sure it fits the needs as it is made of soft material.

while it may protect against scratches and chips from light impacts, i'm not so sure if it can protect the brittle plastic headlight cover from cracking as well as the thick acrylic plate previously sold by motoworld.

 

anywway, some protection is better than none but is the cost worth... you think think lor

btw, think i saw at autobacs and giant selling similar transparent sticker protections... can also DIY.

 

why SW now so expensive... JPY exchange rate lor

yen rates recently is around 62~68 (today abt 62+), but it was around 75~82 few years ago (e.g. 2007 till mid 2008). in late 2007 to early 2008, machine price was only about $10.5k, now is $13.65k; factor in GST and difference is >$3.3k

anyone knows the purpose of tire pressure valve cap??

it seems every time i pump air or check the pressure with pressure gauge ,

the caps always dirty my hands

 

would like to remove them if they are just bai swee only

Good valve caps will help in limiting air leaks and stop dirt from blocking the valve.

Wear a cheap glove if you need to touch it or just wash your bike more frequent loh.

these are the worst tires. very slippery on wet. go try thr pirelli diablo scoot. cheap & good.

agree with bigcow, the pirelli diablo scoot for SW are cheap n good tyres... many of us are using that. around 170+~190+ for a set of nice grippy compound that're still quite lasting.

can drop by KC and talk to ah chong, he can work out something for you; my spare tyre is also with him, we can work something out too
