You can try Hagon suspension

Guys, my new Silverwing shock is too soft, keep bottoming out and quite a few times I scrapped the hump. I have adjust the shock to the hardest and it is still soft. Any idea where to get aftermarket shocks for the bike, mainly the rear ones?

Increase the rear preload by adding shims(?) to it.

That could be done at Kallang Cycle.

More preload means no damping. I think more of the shock absorbers wearing out. Usually springs quite hard to soften unless over-compressed or of lousy materials. But I understand our rear shocks cannot be rebuild or is it not true?

You mean the new SW-T400 you got is having soft suspension?

Posted

From my ex-swing.. I think swing's rear sus is generally lean to e soft side. Great for straight but not so ideal for cornering n goin pass hump esp w pillion.. Think tats e compromise for comfort ba. Highly rec to change it..

imo, both the front n rear suspensions of SW are soft... probably intentional since it is marketed as a touring scooter with comfort and storage instead of power and superb handling like the TMax.

riders who prefer better handling (at expense of comfort) can opt for after-market replacements such as HyperPro fork springs (heard they used to have rear shocks too) and Hagon or Bitubo rear shocks, etc.

a lot depends on what you want and how much you're willing to spend :p

Single rider normally can set the rear to 3. I'm currently using this setting cos the suspension is NEW.

If pillion, then I switch to 4.

Anyway, the suspension will soften over time.

My previous SW must set at 4 after abt 2 years of usage.

For Hagon, the feeling is about stock setting 4.5 (midway betw the 2) in its softest setting. Got 3 settings; soft, mid & hard.

Wahsey. nothing much different from the Hyperpro leh except they using Silkolene fully synthetic. Not sure what rating oil they'll be using. * Picture shows 5wt (26.7Cst@40 degrees) which is too light but I guess that is just a standard picture where actual oil may differs.

Anyway, the Bitubo front fork for Tmax actually comes in Cartridge form with rebound damping adjustment.

How come SW no have? I NEED REBOUND DAMPING ADJUSTMENT!

as far as i know (might be wrong though)...

BS does not bring in white ones for the previous series, i.e. the white FJS400 Euro here are either parallel imported or owner "make-over" units.

Honda announced the launched of SWT/GT series on 9 March 2009 and BS finally brought the SWT to sinkapor soil only in 2010. thus you won't find a 2008 manufactured SWT or GT, earliest could likely be late 2009 :p

do check out the history of SW and lots more info on the SW in the Tech Thread
