How much did you guys pay for your SWT?

Yo i got mine for $16150 all in 1st party with 0 NCD

thanks for sharing the prices guys.... OTR means On The Road....how can be w/o insurance? i know bike production OTR is w/o IU, that's still ok to me. some shops like CKA quote OTR but with insurance cap.

to those who're still on 3rd party fire & theft (aka 2nd party) insurance, i would strongly recommend an upgrade to comprehensive (aka 1st party) insurance. all you need to do is to get a quote from existing insurer and if price is ok, top up the difference on a pro-rated basis.

e.g. my comprehensive insurance costs around $570+, 2nd party costs around 400

... additional $170+ is worth paying

why comprehensive?

when you buang or crash, self repairs could easily come to a few Ks but with comprehensive, only need to pay excess of $500 :p

Just upgrade from 3rd Party Fire & Theft (aka 2nd Party) to 1st Party Comprehensive.

3rd Party F & T = $338 (with 20% NCD) *$422 without NCD

1st Party = $586 (with 20% NCD) *$732 without NCD

I topped up the difference.

Excess is $500.

Bike Lost excess is $1000.

Additional loading in premium after claim is for 1 year only.

Loading will be according to claim, i.e. more than $4k = 1.75x, otherwise should be about 1.5x.

Therefore if claim (calculation for illustration purpose only):

$2000:

Premium for next renew = 1.5x $732 = $1098

Plus excess $500

Total money spent = $1598 - $586 = $1012

Total saved = $2000-$1012 = $988.

$3000 claim = save $1988

$4000 claim = save $2988

$4001 claim = save $2806 *loading 1.75x

$5000 claim = save $3805

$6000 claim = save $4805

Not so understand leh? comprehensive(1st party) and pay excess of $500?? new bike more worth or applicable to old SW too? Let say if bike buang or crash (touch wood), total repair costs abt $1k, so max you need to pay is only $500? is tat mean? Then the next premium renewal will be $exsiting premium x 1.5 (below 4k), am I right?

insurance is like that lor... if swee swee heng heng, minimal coverage is ok liow.

but if suay suay kenna a big few $Ks repair bill, then too late to curse-n-sweat why didn't pay that additional $200 per year to enjoy the $500 self claim excess liow.

there's a funny but meaningful phrase said in the movie Alien vs. Predator...

its like having a condom, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

hey paithorn

if you intend to make full payment, why not check out bike production. think their prices may still be among the cheapest after adding in the "this-n-thats". only need to see ah chwee's face 2 or 3 times cos no installments mah:

1st: to negotiate deal and downpayment

2nd: full payment & collect bike

3rd: collect insurance (or ask them to mail)
