Hey.

Noticed that AMK don't have Kungfu Panda in 3D (or maybe not yet updated?).

But Downtown East have.

3D or no need 3D?

Will wait till latest Tuesday to decide bah.

Hoho. been not very active recently, due to work. But here's just something to share with you guys.

My new hagon shocks arrived 6 days ago, and finally got time to fix it at ACM yesterday.

Some photos to share:

P5210142.JPG

Comparing the original and the Hagon. The Hagon is signifcantly lighter than the original imho.

P5210144.JPG

A different view to show the difference in construction for both shock

P5210146.JPG

First Impression:

I feel the build quality is comparable to original, and the weight savings are always welcomed. The hardness setting is not very convenient as it is located on the upper part which will be inside the fairing. But then again, I've set it to softest as recommended by Fusionjaz and SW9000, and it is way enough.

First Ride Impression:

With the new Hagon shock, when I sit on the bike, the bike no longer sink it like it did with the original (which was setting to hardest, but alas, around 7 years old).

It's also probably due to the fact it is using progressive spring, which u can see from the pictures

The shock is definitely a lot stiffer, and plus lowering my front fork, now, I can feel the bike keep wanting to stick to the ground. Passing hump is not as smooth and plush anymore as now it feels more like my blackbird previously, not as stiff though. I do like the fact how after each humps or small potholes, it keep pushing the bike down.

Cornering is definitely more stable, no more wobble as it sticks alot better.

I do feel the suspension setting on my bike is very much comparable to how it was like on the tmax. The shock might be more firm, but the different in the wheelbase length is still gonna pull down cornering. Still not as stiff as my blackbird or any sportsbike I have tried, but well in conclusion, I really do like it now. Just that I have to slow down more when passing through hump now. :cheeky:

how much did you pay in total... can post the contact here?

i suppose the delivered the 420mm unit to you ya. the hagon looked few 10+mm longer than the stock and being harder, the rear should theoretically be higher after fitting since it "sinks" in less as well.

personally, i'm interested to get the shorter 370mm pair, since the stock units' length are in the first place shorter than 420mm hagon which also sinks in less.

my thoughts... to lower the rear by about 20~30mm

suppose the stock unit is shorter by 10+mm (unloaded) and sinks in more by 20+mm; total difference about 30+mm. using the 370mm could allow me to lower the bike's rear by around 20mm. there's also more than enough clearance to lower the rear, considering the harder hagon springs. using the 390mm could be a "break-even".

Get a wrap for it to keep out the dirt and oil...

Where to get the wrap huh?

See my invoice here for the price:

P5210138.JPG

Got it from: http://www.wemoto.com/

Turnover inclusive of delivery is around 1 week plus. They reply pretty quickly to enquiries, and that's really good. Cheapest I've found online liao.

For the shock length, when Ah Chong and I measure it, it's exactly the same length from pivot to pivot. So, it's not really any longer.

As for the shorter spring. I understand your concern, but personally I rather use what they send me as I prefer higher shock as that will improve handling imho. Maybe you should try mine or Fusionjaz first before deciding how much shorter you should get.

Today ride through bt timah bumpy road, to sunset way. Really like the handling with the new shock, but quite uncomfortable when I hit the drain. Starting to like it alot. Can do tighter turns liao. hee

thanks zesture

Where to get the wrap huh?

can get from autobacs... but Jusco will be cheaper.

note: need to cut open the overlap section so that it becomes long enough to wrap round the shocks

ok, will check with them the shorter ones. probably the 390mm instead of the 370mm if default is physically of same length

thanks for the offer but since it is confirmed higher (by many SWingers), i'ld prefer not the tip-toe further... probably the 390mm for a "break-even"

Wah.... u upgraded quite alot of new stuffs for your SW man..... last few week saw your bike at ah choong there already changed the steel brake hose, now hagon.... more to go for sure... haha.... :p

Btw, this website selling price is cheaper than the HKG seller abt S$20 - S$30, not bad..... waiting time abt 1 week plus oso consider fast man... they send by courier direct to your hse?? Quite interest and itchy to buy hagon oso, but don't understand abt the conversation abt the spring? Izzit you can request different length of spring when you place order? I tot is standard one size de? Can advice?......

Personally, the most happiest I upgraded for my SW is hyper-pro, follow by steel brake hose and next is GIVI maxia.... you can immediate feel the differences...... LOL....
