Chairman, just check with you.... Do you put the LED strip under the seat (paste below the side fairing)? I bought the LED strip but unable to install leh.... the left hand side got no issue, only the right hand side. If we pasted the LED strip there, it will near the exhaust will caused it very heating. Due to this, i din do the LED for my rear.... Any comment?

I recalled you have do it, but only remember i saw the left hand side, din noe abt the other side..... :p

why specifically JDM? you wanna use the T-mode for faster pickup?

JDM generally consumes more fuel than FJS. faster? maybe maybe not :lol:

there're many posts about difference between FJS & JDM at tech thread... do check it out for more details

yes, i have a 35cm long 5050 blue SMD strip on each side below the rear side fairings.

yes again, the right side is tricky cos heat from exhaust cause strip to come off as the normal 3M double side tape is not meant to perform under hot/cold/wet conditions. i've tried a few kinds of 3M tapes and finally settled down with the 3M-Scotch® Exterior Weather-Resistant Double-Sided Tape which costs about $8~$9 a small roll at many hardware/misc/DIY shops. it is able to withstand heat radiated from the exhaust and also rain/shine/bike wash :p

Thanks Chairman, last question... even through the 3M tape can prevent the heat from exhaust.... how about the LED strip? can tong the heat bo? my guess is the LED strip slowly will fade and the chances of spoil oso faster than the left hand side right?

yup... the greatest enemy of LED is heat.

i didn't keep track how soon it fails but my previous 5050 pair from SLT lasted about 2 years... kow poon liow.

current pair was up since Sep 2010, still very bright... those who went Penang with us in Apr have no problem spotting the "TRON" bike from far at night :lol:

last weekend start a shop selling FBD SW [almost 3 yrs bike] with a milage of 73k selling only $4.8k!

was thinking why it was selling so cheap? but the milage like abit on the high side.

what ur advice?

FBD doesn't necessary mean the bike is 2+ years old cos prev owner might have retained original registration nos.

e.g. if i sell my bike and retain the nos, the bike's nos become FBF unless new owner uses his own nos.

suggest you find out:

* year of manufacture

* year of initial registration

* original color

* how many owners

* can try asking for accident history but dun think shop will tell u honestly

suppose bike really clocked 73+k over near 3 yrs, it is likely a "tourer" and/or an "islander".

e.g. i travel from one side of Sg to another for work, clocking an average of 400+km per week. so 3 yrs adds up to about 63k kms (3 yrs x 52 weeks x 400km). plus a few trips up to boleh and tong-yum land, 73+k kms is not astronomical :p

we couldn't comment whether $4.8k is a good price cos very much will depend on bike's condition and the way it is used or abused.

e.g. i believe SW9000's bike could still be in good condition at 70+k kms knowing his riding style/pattern and how well he takes care of his SW (assume no accident all the way). dare not be as optimistic for cases whose owners have only "2 throttle modes", open and close :lol:

Anyone can recommend nice and cheap mirrors?? my blind spot mirror dropped and i made a mess trying to scrape off the double side tape.

Hmm, I thought using WD40 with a cloth is good for removing sticky stuff?

I tired using UHU glue to to hold the mirror, but it didnt last :p

To stick the blind spot mirror, use 3M exterior.

To remove sticky residue, try use WD40.
