Anyone know what is the price for the new Sliver wing GT400 without abs, one bike shop quote me 17700 OTR (with insurance & COE cap at 2000, IU unit, need to top up if COE more than 2k).

is this price alright to you and anyone know which place can get it cheaper.

Price seems ok leh.

But hor... GT400 not as popular as SW-T becos it is parallel imported.

Not sure if anyone here have it yet.

You can be the 1st and let us know the performance.

GT400 have liao.... owned by a Uncle not sure is who? I saw it once and Chairman also saw it i think..... so not the 1st, is 2nd or maybe 3rd or....

hi hippo, i'm posting here since your PM can't be used...

sorry i' not able to advise on the pricing matters as i didn't follow the "market" for some time liow. my bike is still the one when new OTR was around 12+k including insurance and IU

there are a few 600cc in town but i'm not aware if new GT600 or FJS600 are available.

basically, Boon Siew (distributor) don't bring in 600cc so you've gotta check parallel importers... try asking Mah, Looi's and ASP. price? i dunno

as for SW400 with ABS, standard units that BS bring in are non-ABS models. if want ABS models, need to specially order and heard it costs additional $1+k~2k. can also check with the parallel importers.

i strongly do not recommend buying the ABS kit yourself and then get your regular mech to fit it even though it is possible. not only you'ld void warranty, your life is at risk at the mercy of your mech's limited knowledge of the SW.

top up schemes for COE is quite common for cars; no rule saying it can't be used on bikes. it is between the buyer and seller.

alternatively, you can bid for your own COE.

we have a kaki who tried bidding $1k (or was it $1 ) but simply no luck. finally got his COE when he gave up trying his luck and place bid for $2222.

Went to JB late last night to top up my tank and sent my SWING for a bubble bath.

Bubble bath, wax and sealant total cost = MYR 30, after converting is about SG 12.26

Total time taken 1.5 hours.

Value for money:thumb:

O ya one more addition service, they wax my helmet too.

so far i never encounter top up for bike one...... let me share...

3 ways to buy new bike.......

1) My method always is to bid COE at ATM by myself. So I will buy the bike at the machine price +++ or OTR without COE from shop. This method is required if:

a) you have a number plate thus need the COE under yr name(same name as LTA's record of the number plate)

b) Just buy from shop and tell them to bid what price you want for COE. If it is below, you will pay for that COE price plus the machine ++. If COE is above, you do not get your bike. This way, they will want a deposit from you before bidding for you. Also your NRIC is required to reset the LTA PIN

c) Most people use this method. Just buy at the price they quote you. It is based on the last COE bidding. Most bike shop bid some COEs in anticipation of the number of bikes they will sell. Once you ok with the price, they register it with the COS they have on hand and you already know the price of the COE cos it was last bidding price. . However, do note that you bike comes with 01 transfer. It was registered in bike shop's name and they bidded the COE and immediately transferred to you. The cost of transfer and stuff are already included in your purchase price. So if you use the above 2 methods, you can still deduct some money off. *** Unused COEs they will let it lapse with a oss of $200(bidding deposit) but all these are inlcuded and averaged out in their sale price of bikes.

Yes, many Deauville friends are also surprise why I sold of my bike and go for SW, as all my member who know me, know how crazy and how much $ and love I put into my bike, But still have to let her go is good way,
there are a few reason why I let go my bike,
1, I own a tourer, but has no time and no gut to go up to malaysia,(no balls la).
2, may need to work oversea in due time, none of my family member can handle her weight and her size, if I still insist to keep it, end of day it will end up other bike park at the car park and collect dust and rust and spoilt and loss......, (by the time I may have more problem to let go my bike.)
3, family issue......
And for why I go for SW
the main reason is I feel than SW is more suitable for my family, (if I am oversea)
and is also more friendly and more easy to handle than Deauville.
Just hope she will find a good owner who can take good care of her.
BTW bike is at Sin Boon motor & co, address is 10 Admiralty Street #01-10/11 northlink building.(please don't ask me how mush I sold my bike to the bike shop )

if weight is a main concern, pls note that Deauville NT650 is actually LIGHTER than the SW400. the Deauville NT700 is a few Kg heavier than the SW though
