Sakuraya Fish Market at west coast plaza?

a bit more ex but the sashimi is :thumb:

alternatively can consider Hoshi at IMM, buffet spread is not bad, sashimi is not as shiok as Sakuraya though :p

a more central option is Nihon Mura at Revenue House, price and food quality about same as Hoshi :)

if makan can... wonder if the fish they serve are vegetarian

btw, coffee bean and starbucks are available at west coast plaza so we can consider chilling out there after makan.

one issue... park where?

security don't allow bikes into the building's loading bay anymore, other than the pizza delivery bikes.

there's HDBCP next to (just before) the building, there's illegal parking alone pavement under the overhead bridge (security will chase us away of park in front), there's also pavement across the road, etc.

Any scooter specialist workshop will do.

Ah Choong Motor (kaki Bukit), Future Scootering (Kallang), K & T (Ubi), etc.

Transmission oil... can change at alternate EO change, together with the oil filter. Use the same as EO.

Hello guys.. sori can i check wif u guys where do u all do ur servicing? Which is ''gd'' hahaha n can i ask abt transmission oil? Nid to check after running in? Or how long must change?

yup, any scooter specialist shop will be ok... like SW9000 said.

give you a BIG HINT...

any shop that suggests to put gear oil into your SW's final transmission... LEAVE THAT SHOP!!!

a mech that's familiar with SW will know that it's final transmission oil uses 10W40 MOTOR OIL (stated in the service manual) and NOT GEAR OIL.

some will tell you that many SWingers also use gear oil without problem, but do you wanna risk premature wearing on the gears and bearings inside? most (if not all) of these riders use their SW for local rides only where demands on the lubrication and cooling isn't as high as when on long-leg high rpm rides (e.g. touring).

fact is, gear oil and motor oil have different properties even when having similar weight, else there's no need to differentiate them liow.

why honda chose motor oil? my guess is that the gears and bearings inside the final drive assembly are very fine and delicate, thus need lower viscosity (more watery) heat capable motor oil to penetrate and lubricate/cool its members.

see Tech Corner post #24

if gear worn, repair costs is about $550 :p

as for running in the SW, 1000km is good enough, especially when your normal riding speed is around 90~110km/h (rpm is around 4900~6000 rpm).

running in... see post #95

* 1st 500km: run on mineral oil (comes with bike), limit to

* @ 500km: change engine oil (10w40 mineral oil) and oil filter; some riders prefers not to change filter even when it is not costly (a original honda filter costs

* next 500km: run on mineral oil, limit to

* @ 1,000km: run in completed:

note that some bikers practice extended run ins, 1,500km or 2,000km or 2,500km.

... change engine oil to preferred 10w40 weighted oil; brand, semi or fully synthetic engine oil is matter of personal preference but strongly recommend to use 10w40

... must change oil filter

... change transmission oil; owner's manual says to use 10w40 motor oil (another name for engine oil) so most of us use the same engine oil we use for the engine bay. note that some mechanics will recommend to use gear oil instead of engine oil, based on their many years of experience and some SW are indeed using gear oils. fact is, honda's service manual for Silver Wing clearly stated to use 10w40 engine oil, there must be a reason.

Normally, the engine oil and transmission oil drained out at these stages are rather blackish due to the many metal "power" in the oil, the by-products of running in. That is why changing the filter is very important at the end of the run in; the filter is supposed to keep the eo clean instead of "contaminating" it.

to use fully synthetic, semi synthetic or dinosaur oil after running in (1000km) is a matter of preference... SW can take all of them, but DO NOT MIX them :p

drain interval depends on type/grade of oil and individuals' preference/pockets.

Me the kiasu type (base on my log)... **Just my preference. Others do it differently.

100km - mineral eo, gear eo, oil filter

500km - mineral eo, gear eo, oil filter

1000km - mineral eo, gear eo, oil filter

2000km - fully synthetic eo and gear eo, oil filter, iridium plugs and engine syn. Completed.

There after...

5k and 10k - eo only

15k - eo/gear/oil filter/plugs/engine syn/air filter/transmission clean

20k and 25k - eo only

30k - eo/gear/oil filter/plugs/engine syn/air filter/belt & rollers

Cycle repeated.

Gear oil = Transmission oil = like what Scooby said... use the same as your EO, 10W40.

During running in can use mineral. After that, use fully syn.
