Avoid R8 if necessary. If no choice, then travel a a leisure pace. 120km/h is NOT a leisure ride. Too stressful for the eyes to keep track of what's around at such high speed.

agree... it was a tiring ride that taxes lots on concentration :pity:

lots of potholes, pebbles "carpet", and some monkeys and dogs to lookout for.

try calling looi's... think AXA or AIA (now called chartis) may take, but likely require bike survey.

few questions...

Q1: was it like that when you bought the bike, or only happen recently (with everything unchanged)?

if only occur recently, then needs servicing... could be slippage, possibly due to any or combination of:

* worn belt slips when it can't hold the variate plates properly

* worn clutch pads can't "bite" the bell face tight enough to turn the gears/wheel, thus require higher rpm to generate the required (stronger) grip

* dirty clutch assembly impedes the necessary frictions between the various "grips"

* clogs at clutch pegs' pivot points impedes the pegs ability to "swing outwards", usually due to hardened dirt

* etc.

Q2: did you change the torque springs to aftermarket ones recently?

stiffer (aka stronger) springs require higher rpm for clutch to "bike" the bell for moving off. some SWingers changed the springs for better pickup.

No changes or mods yet. So I guess could be dirty transmission or worn clutch pads cos I still have an estimate of about 15k km to my belting...

belt wise, genuine honda stock belt can last 30,000 km if rider is not a "whacker"; one of our ex-kakis (now disappeared from radar liow) changed his after some 45,000 km.

15,000 km usage is unlikely to be very worn unless previous owner rides the SW like a GP bike. i changed my belt at around 20,000km (still in very good condition) together with rollers and u-shoe... the so called "3-in-1" :p

may wanna consider a strip-down servicing/cleaning for your transmission system, including the clutch assembly... consider look for ah choong (AC Motor) or ah hwa (Future) or ah cheun (K&T) :p

Ok... Thanks scooby. I think will head down to Future to get my transmission checked. Suspect its my clutch...

The ride not too bad la...kinda long nia...Enjoyed my goldwing flying in the air, almost ended up in the ditch when it started to rain - so almost join the few SG vehicles involved in the few accidents along the way. Back in one piece...that's most important for me.

Just finished bathing...

Wah. A 12-hr ride session today. Very tiring going through the trunk roads chasing after the chiongsters.

Some more swimming most of the way back to GP.

My humble opinion?

Avoid R8 if necessary. If no choice, then travel a a leisure pace. 120km/h is NOT a leisure ride. Too stressful for the eyes to keep track of what's around at such high speed.

I didn't get so tired even after Fraser Hill ride passing through Bentong. I was traveling at 90-100km/h

The rest are safely back except Ah Ho and Marcus haven't report in yet.

Sorry Maiker, should have let you know earlier we were in the shopping mall next to the petrol station.

For me, the roads are ok, but just riding a bit too long for me with that helmet problem. :(

But I believe, after this ride, everyone's endurance would have went up. April will go up with much lesser fatigue!

Just ordered the Morgan Carbtune Pro and Colortune Pro. May need help when they arrive.

Mat I know where to buy the seat gas spring? Part is Showa 7G25. Bike shops suggest to buy at car shops but where?

Just arrived. Still wondering how they can air mail the parcel of 1.3kg at 3 sterling pounds when our cheapest rates for a 0.5kg vPOSTEurope is $35.50 and Singpost Air Parcel to UK is $36. We are getting ripped of!!!

Any advice on the gas spring?

You intend to order the shocks for the seat? From which online store and how much?

Preference is to buy locally. At least if have problems, can go back for help. I've not been able to find a reasonable online store for the gas springs yet.

act. roughly I know we are suppose to have makan at the shopping mall. but we thought there is another mall further down. no fault of yours, worry not.

my helmet also gave me prob. pressing hard against my ears. from 100+km already cannot take it. now still sore! rule of the thumb: don't wear new helmet for long dist.
