Count me in if doing a mass order / installation. Weights for FJS400D pls.

Dr Pulley sliders got 26g, 25g, 24g and 21g.

caa 6pm today, Tai Hin only have 21g left.

If want the 26g, must pre-order. With installation, expect $95.

Alternatively, can use the malossi 24g rollers (use with stock variator).

Ah Choong left 3 sets I think, at $65 per set.

Confirmation with Ah Choong's SW Manuasl (JDM & FJS)

1. The green 29g rollers actually belongs to JDM400. Part number 22123-MEF-000.

2. The brown 25.3g rollers are for FJS400 and SW-T400. Part number 22123-MEF-D00.

However, for god knows how long, FJS have come installed with the green rollers as stock. Likewise the 1st Gen SW-T.

Now with the current SW-T, they finally used the correct brown rollers.

Unfortunately, all parts agencies continue to bring in only the green ones, thinking that is stock. Alamak.

I've ordered 2x brown sets from ACM. Hopefully will arrive by May 12.

If they are the correct ones, I'll order some more just to keep spares. **Green ones are just too slow...

Anyway, I took the 24g Malossi for testing also. Will fix on tmr and check the difference.

But my green rollers are having the same rpm timing stated in your table above... Will using the 25.3g rollers affect FC compared to the 29g?

Isn't the green good for touring then, since need lower rpm to achieve highway speeds?

yup, "scratching" sounds sometimes appear from the brake assemblies due to worn pads (but that usually happens when pads are really worn) and more often, worn and/or out of shape (very common) rotor blades.

put you bike on main stand (don't start engine), spin the rear wheel and listen if there's the scratch-silent scratch-silent sounds. if got, usually is the rotor blade out of shape liow.

cause? wear-n-tear and heat. common problem especially if we often wash bike when rotors are still kinda "hot".

change gear oil... did you use 10w40 motor oil as suggested by honda service manual, or the usual gear oil? there's a post at the tech corner on this contentious issue.

belt to last another 20k km? wow!

fyi, many of us change our 3-in-1 every 20+k or so. the manual says I (inspect, clean, adjust, lub, replace as necessary) at 18k, R (replace) at 24k. the record i know is a bro changed his belt at 40+k.

if you do only local riding, no issue as towing to workshop costs only $30~$40+. but if you tour, its better to play safe as towing back from overseas costs many times that amount (e.g. >S$700 from cameron highland). let's not forget about the potential damages caused by the whipping of a snapped belt inside. worse, suay suay loose power when you most need it, like to get out of an accident :pity:

I guess I will give it another 10K or so and see how is it. Not doing any touring. Just city ride. Gear oil I cannot remember. It's motul with a 90 number. By the way, does anyone knows where to get the BMW grips and how much is it? My grips are slipping. Also planning to fix a new box. Any intro?

Just found that the clutch bell for SW400 and SW-T are also different part number. Why? Because SW-T comes thicker (1.5mm) thus no pigeon sound.

Replaced my plugs few days ago. Put out the old plugs, well Denso iridium, doesnt look too bad still got lots of life in them. Maybe give it to my friend' SW...I brought the NGK iridium plugs... I find that NGK got slightly better pulling power from my butt dyno....Checked the website can last for 80000km? That's mean is a long long time for me....They both got a crispy starting sensation...

Great! It's like CB400 using upgrades from newer spec3 / revo. So can FJS use SW-T clutch bell?

80kkm for cars; my car iridium lasted that long. Half it for bikes as higher rpm.

With regards to the roller weights and their rpm, shouldn't lighter weights move out faster thus engaging the clutch at lower rpm?

Clutch will engage at the same rpm depending on their springs.

The variator plates however, depends on the force that is acting on it:

Heavy rollers need lower rpm to push on the plates while lighter rollers need higher rpm for the same force required.

Malossi Rollers (24g) Review

Just DIYed insert the Malossi 24g rollers at my MSCP.

Hmm... the performance is back to similar as the brown stock 25.3g Rollers.

Speed/RPM:

Move off: 2600 rpm ** Different from stock. Not sure why. Possible because my 2800 rpm recording for the brown rollers was after 1 year usage?

Acceleration after move off is 4500rpm.

Anyway, the rest are the same.

90km/h - 5000

100km/h - 5500

110km/h - 6000

120km/h - 6500

Didn't go beyond that yet...

Performance wise:

Very light throttling. Acceleration is quick and effortless.

Didn't feel much vibration or lag.

Slightly louder due to operating at a higher rpm than the green 29g rollers most are using.

Recommendation:

For those local rides, recommend to get these or the stock brown rollers.

However, currently brown are not available till possibly May 12. These Malossi are good alternatives.

I've gotten used to the brown ones therefore I'll stick to the Malossi for now till the stock arrives for next service. Happy.

Just found that the clutch bell for SW400 and SW-T are also different part number. Why? Because SW-T comes thicker (1.5mm) thus no pigeon sound.

Everything should be the same except the reduction of pigeon noise due to thicker bell wall.
