3. Which Wireless Router did you use? The Linksys EA4500 or the EA1200?

5. Anyone subscribed to the GamePro100 plan? Hmm... wonder if it is worth getting the GamePro at $61 (100 download and 100 upload for gaming) or just the 100/50mb at $39.

3. My understanding is that the router does make a difference to speed. If the router CPU/ASIC cannot handle the NAT and route, especially if you have many PCs at home, you may not hit 100mbps.

5. Can you sign lower plan and then upgrade later if not good enough?

There are 2 routers available by M1. Not sure which is better/more stable?

Currently my Starhub Huawei router is good enough for 4 PC simultaneous game connection/movie downloads.

Normally this one is 2-year contract so not sure about upgrade halfway.

Anyway, the price difference betw the package is for the higher upload speed needed for online games.

Probably resulting in a faster reaction. Important for Counter-strikes or Diablo 3.

Fyi, I'm surviving on free 1mbps internet using Singtel Mio and Starhub Hubstation. No time for gaming... :(

in bluuuuuuuu...

we usually can't get anything close to the "theoretical" download speed. Singtel claims all their ADSL services are with dedicated lines, but i'm usually getting

dunno whether the ISPs are bluffing about the theoretical speeds or not.

other than the 3 main providers, there's small ones around, such as My Republic.

https://secure.myrepublic.com.sg/promotions/

Just checking on Fibre Broadband from M1.

1. Anyone subscribed to M1 Fibre?

i'm currently paying about $23 for the super slow "3"Mbps Singtel BB, looking at the M1 FBB but the $39 plan will do. think that's the cheapest and most "value" for $$ FBB around... speed (throughput) wise, dunno :p

let's see if there's any good bargains at COMEX 2012 (from 30 Aug ~ 2 Sep).

2. Charges per month (and other hidden costs) and DL/UL Speed?

there're lots of "hidden" costs from all the ISPs

check this out... for M1

http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/pc-show-2012-342/m1-fibre-broadband-pc-show-2012-a-3743588.html

3. Which Wireless Router did you use? The Linksys EA4500 or the EA1200?

xXx

4. The Router is bought separately from M1? i.e. EZ4500 at $199 and EA1200 at $50?

usually, the same router (or equivalent/better spec) could be bought from Sim Lim at a much lower price.

5. Anyone subscribed to the GamePro100 plan? Hmm... wonder if it is worth getting the GamePro at $61 (100 download and 100 upload for gaming) or just the 100/50mb at $39.

you forgot to mention online nose-bleeding video streaming right?

Qn: Hi, I have a PC3USB that I use on my Suzuki GSXR750K7. I would like to port it to my Honda Silverwing FJS400D 2008. May I know which wiring harness I should get?

Ans: That will not work. You must buy the appropriate Power Commander for your bike model.. They are model specific devices.

Anybody can confirm that this is true? My understanding is that the PC3 CPU is common, only the wiring harnesses and maps are specific to bike models. Else it will be very costly to make for all models.

Yupz... Its the harness kit that is bike specific. The PC3 is just a piggyback to store your maps for the ECU.

My understanding is that Power Commander is Bike Model specific or rather, ECU specific (They got different part no. for it). A powercommander for GSR750R (4 cylinders) is different from Silverwing (2 cylinders). It is not a matter of loading the relevant map/using the correct harness. Unless across 2 different bike models using the same ECU?

Agreed, and I know Suzuki, also got a secondary butterfly valves, it is very diff from the basic configuration of SW. If I may suggest, sell the PC5 and get a SW specific PC3.

But...If PC5 is just a piggy back device between the ECU and FI, then maybe something can be done...

Google it and let us know. Nothing is confirmed until you tried it..

Need advice from bros here who ride chained bikes or used to ride chained bikes. What is the best way to lube the chain such that it's easy to clean? Previous owner uses Motul Factory Line chain lube. It's sticky, stays on longer but is hard to remove/clean. Even using Motul chain cleaner is difficult. It turns out, 3in1 heavy duty degreaser works better than Motul, (dunno whether it will harm those *-rings) but it still took me the whole can and 2 hours to clean, and still not as clean as it can be. Can't imagine myself wasting time on this.

PC* are piggy backs. On 2nd thoughts, better to leave it on my 750. Owner had done dyno and tuning, and everything is in order. Now I know what I had been missing out on!

Used to have a frd, siao on one, wash bike from 1 to 6pm. What he used to clean chain, SAF alu mug, lot of cheap washing powder and a bit of water. Those brush used to clean toilet bowl. Small stool sit down, clean it for one hour. Siong but super clean. Clean till use bare hand also not black in color....

Chain lube I use Penray one. I think $10 can used for damn long. Spray a bit can already, enough not to see it dry. Some people spray till wet wet, attract dirt only.

http://www.penray.com/products/products.asp?x=1&y=304&y3=318&y4=401&articlesource=401

Used to get it near a hardware shop at HKL there. One of hardware shop on ur left when u exit HKL to the main road. Best keep secret. Those motul all ultra expensive one cannot lube beat this chain lube...One can last me for 2-3 years..

Chain must clean at least once per month. If not so dirty, WD40 on a rug then wipe off. Spray lube ok lo, ask someone help you and jack the rear wheel off then spin one round and spray very light coat of lube. Touring when you reach ur dest, ask someone jack up rear wheel a bit then spray one light coat then leave it, when time to return home, swee swee one.

Out of my 14 years of riding, I change only a set of sockets and chain, that was on my RXZ. SO far I covered at least 15000km on most of my sport bike. Even I sold off still swee swee. Chain can last at least 40000km if you take care, even on super bike like R1. My frd change only at 45000km. First 10000km most track and tour mileage.

Thanks. SW wash and wax only 30min. No main stand is a problem. Do you think 1 person can use the bike stand to jack up / down the rear w/o toppling the bike? Heard Scottoiler is good as just need water to rinse off the dirt. How true? I have the water jet spray to rinse off.
