Pulau Ubin Day Trip

 

Date: 13 Jul 13 (Sat)

Meeting Time: 7.30am

Meeting Location: Changi Point Ferry Terminal

What to bring: Spare clothing and shoes, jockey cap, swimming 'costume', insect repellent, bicycle lock, camera, etc.

Proposed Itinerary

7.30am - Meet at Changi Point Ferry Terminal. Don't be late.

7.45am - Bumboat to Pulau Ubin @ $2.50 each (1-way). Or.. hire whole boat for $30.

8.15am - Reached Pulau Ubin.

8.30am - Rent a bike, buy water and food.

9am - Visit Chek Jawa 1st. Lowest tide at 0.5m expected at 9am and up to 0.8m at 10am.

11.30am - Visit North Route. Lunch... en-route (kikikukiki).

2pm - Visit West Route (look look see see the MB trail).

5pm - Early Dinner at Ubin Town or bumboat back to Changi Village for makan.

How about swimming ? If cold muscle cant stretch, swimming might get cramp on lower limb ?

 

Swim slowing for 5 mins as warm up, then stretch ?

Or totally dont do stretching ?

Oh cos I was comparing the hella and stebel and remember u wrote something about horns so wanna check it out again.

 

Anyway got myself de stebel magnum cos I find hella higher pitch than magnum.

Still need to warm up. Running on the spot, jump jack, push up, sit up and joint movements, etc. Anything just to get the heart rate up for 10mins or so.

Cramps will happen when you're not conditioned... i.e. swim too fast or too far without progressive training... aka... you're WEAK but wanna act strong!!

 

As usual, stretch at the end of exercise.

If it makes you happy, can also stretch after the warm up.... but it's like 'take off the pants and Fart...'. hahaha. Visualising you...

Rollers (16k... some not so round already)

Clutch assembly bearings x2 (40k)

EO (6k)

Oil filter (11k)

Spark Plugs (13k)

 

DIY:

Sand papered the clutch pads. * Surfaced blackened due to excessive rubbing/slippage during up slope jams at Cameron Highlands.

Engine synchronization.

Wah. Cameron Highland on my intended ride in Oct is expensive due to Hari Raya Haji.... and expecting to be crowded.

 

If no go Cameron, must change plans a bit.

1. Penang 3N, Genting 1N (rm108) and Kuantan 1N?

2. Penang 2N, Hatyai 2N and Ipoh (rm90) or Genting 1 N?

3. Or... Hatyai 3N...

I saw "No motorised" something allowed ...

Thinking of getting one like this to put in office ....

Can ride 20km ... and motorised 20km .. hahaha .. 40km can clear easily. hahaha ... perfect solution for round the island trip.

Hey, u r right. It's mentioned on Nparks website: "Electric and Motorised vehicle are not allowed in all Park Connectors".

 

But I think this is like the, "no cycling on overhead bridge". They dont implement strongly, so heng suay to see if get caught.

I did saw some electric bike on Park connectors .. which I am tempted to get one.

Round the island on park connectors is not a easy task without a motorised bicycle ... I do feel the strain after 30km, especially during afternoon and evening. When the sun set and I will still 20km away from home ... I always regret covering that amount of distance.

 

So ... buy motorised bicycle ?

Haha. No other commitment except go touring. Less stress.

 

Others have as much leave but need to take care of wive(s), kids, cousins, business, etc.
