Hi guys. I just bought over a 05 SW.

Loving it so far, spacious and smooth...

My gf seems to love it more then me though. She even said it would be perfect if the pillion seat came with arm rest.

Previously was riding mostly street and sports touring bike GSF650/FZ6S/Deauville but I got a feeling this sw will stay for sometime because gf is starting to conveniently throw her groceries/gym bag/tote bag etc into my box and underseat.lol

My bike is currently at 72Km and I am intending to do a servicing(replace belt roller etc) for a peace of mind.

I have read good reviews of AC motor and will be going down.

Everything is good on the bike except the front end seem to wobble slightly during cornering and i feel a slight resistance in the front.

Had the bike on centerstand but did not feel any loose or tight spot. But given age of the bike I will be doing a steering cone/bearing change.

Worn wheel bearing is out as i didnt feel any freeplay or tight spot when i spin the front wheel.

Next up would be getting a new set of tyres and getting both front and rear balanced.

Which leads me to the next question for the regulars of AC motor: Does he has the equipment to balance the tyres? if possible I want to let him do the full servicing+ tyre change/balancing + replacement of steering cone/bearing+tuning for better FC.

Cheers,

Ben

do make sure don't put things that cannot be exposed to heat in the underseat storage, it can get quite warm especially if you need to travel a fair bit.

sashimi confirm up the lorry inside there :p

yes, post purchase full checkup and maintenance is strongly recommended, regardless what the previous owner claims that he has done; unless if you know he's tell the truth.

I have read good reviews of AC motor and will be going down.

if you have specific items/parts to change, suggest you call him in advance to find out whether he has that specific part before popping over, in case someone took the last piece

yes, ah choong can do balancing for both front and rear.

do note that he's not using the electronic/motorised spinners, he's using a "powered by gravity" portable balancer similar to this one below.

by the way, many workshops can balance only the front, unless if they have the special adapter to mount SW's rear wheel to their motorised spinner machines.

Tried calling Ah chong a few times but he did't pick up.Must be a busy man. Will head down personally to check it out.

Anyway the bike came with chrome kuryakyn mirror which was quite heavy and i didnt like it so I switch back to the stock mirrors.Rode it today and the wobbling disappeared. Weird. Will be changing both tyres to monitor is wobble is completely eliminated.

Riding sw in heavy traffic quite stress. Not nimble at all. But when traffic is clear i love it. Still need to get use to it.

Ehh... I never had any problem in heavy traffic leh.

If handling is heavy, check tires and suspension.

Anyway, Ah Choong could recommend some remedies for bike stability and suspension mod.

Let him check through everything.

imo, shouldn't skip item 1 ... that's why i put at item 1 :p

the +$40- item could save you many many times from drivers who don't check blind spots.

some pp say loud honking is rude, but i'ld rather be rude than to kiss the tarmac :pity:

items 2 is strongly recommended as it improves safety, cornering and especially during e-braking.

items 4 & 7 can come later, when you next change.

my review of the IUH24 iridium sparkies + K&N combi ... quite enjoyable.

common to experience higher FC initially cos shiok mah, keep on squeezing

once used to them and start "normal" riding, FC should return :thumb:

fyi, my 2006 manufactured FJS400 just clocked 26+km/l... last evening nia

was very tempted to ride beyond 400km but remembering that i last pushed bike at around 408km, decided to drop the idea :lol

394.2km/15.006l = 26.27km/l ... can test 400km range liow :cheeky:

Just left A.C motor. Went down around 8pm and found out he open till quite late which is good for those who work late.

Did a engine and gear oil change+filter.

Replaced pirelli diablo front and rear with balancing. Had him replaced the front bearings which he showed me were rough.

He also did a airscrew synchronization for me for better fc.

Wanted to change belts and rollers but no stocks so going down tmr again. Will be changing iridium plugs and K&N air filter as well.

Bike is so much smoother and stable during cornering now. Contemplating if I should change my fork oil tmr as I want to install my fork guard as well.

FC now is at 18-19km/L.

Hoping to acheive Scooby's 26km/L after tmr round 2 servicing.

By the way I find him quite honest. My brakepads were still new and he took them out to check and say no need to change.

Also I didnt know he only accepts cash payment but he say he will do the servicing first then I go and withdraw money and come back later to pay.

Thumbs up for A.C motor.

Just went down to ACM to do 24K service - belt, clips, rollers, change all the oils out, change filter, plugs. Change new diablo tires.

Tweaked a little here and there.

Really impressed with AC.

Service is fast AC seems to know our SW really well.

Real friendly guy too :-)
