if you are looking for 2nd hand classics, i think you will have a hard time getting installment/hire purchase as they can't valuate the scoot. I know Ah Joo allows installment with him, do check out how it works...

Doubt any pte seller will let you pay them by installments also lah =)

wers the ahjoo shop at? anw i realised that instead of doin installments with shop, installments with bank is an alternative.. just lookin for a scrappy vespa to recond..

The only downside to moving off in 2nd all the time is that your clutch plates will wear out faster...

i like rear views..

i realise, our bikes are pretty similar...

both black , both FT., clear signal lights..hah..

but of coz, urs is 100x nicer then mine..

ur siggy says, its a px200?

no wonder the front wheel looks different.

The box is 100% custom... got the idea of a guy in the States who made one simmilar out of 2 px side cowls... So I got 2 PX side cowls and the skills of a good welder/fabricator and set about creating something custom... Turned out nice :)

Mine is indeed a PX200... but the front wheel is from an ET8, the fork was modified (top is PX, bottom is ET8), and the fender custom modified to fit...

Hi Guys, may i know wats the market value of a Vespa Sprint. There was a AU plate sprint going for $2000 recently COE 2012 Felt that it was reasonable.

Can someone advise me pls

Missed this post.. hope i'm not too late to reply it.

Please check and confirm that it is a true sprint and not a PX that has been wrongly classified by LTA as a Sprint. AU plate is about 1978 where Sprint stop coming in, and PX started sprouting. =)

Ah joo's shop is at Ubi rd 1, under block 3007. Plenty of vespas parked outside. no way you can miss it. Ubi rd 1 near TP HQ, so please don't try too many illegal stunts there..haha

By installment you mean COI/hire purchase?

Installment with bank/financial institution has its problems actually. Imagine you have a 1970's Vespa that you want to buy for $4000, so you ask for a hire purchase with them. Which means legally speaking, the scoot belongs to them until you finish paying the full sum, if you default, they will have ownership of the bike which they can auction off and reclaim the amount outstanding.

Now the problem is, they are unable to ascertain the value of your 1970's Vespa. You tell them it's worth $4000, they will tell you the book value of the vespa is 0 (because it originally worth 1k+ when it was sold back then, and has depreciated over the years to practically nil), and that they will not take up the HP agreement as there's risk of claiming nothing in return. So you probably can't be pledging the Vespa, and will be taking separate loan under some other collateral.

If that's the case, if you can prove your financial credentials, you could just secure a loan loh. Or 'Ask James'. =) I might be wrong, but you could still check it out and share with us. 'cos i believe a lot of people will like to pay through installments.

wat i meant was that u just loan the cash needed, not hire purchase with them.. coz a fren of mine loaned from this company to repair his bike.. he took 2.5k n gave back only 2.9k fo 1 yr installemnts.. so i tot probably i can loan it n use it to pay full cash at the shop but do installemnts with the bank.. i tink that is quite a gd deal.. but of coz there are requirements to meet before we can loan the cash la..

Was reading reviews on the net about PX200 and seems everyone was saying it's quick. Ha ha. But when I move off from traffic light, the cars behind always tailgates me. Anyone with PX200 (stock) can advise?

heh, tho i'm not riding a stock PX200 (but i have friend who does), and yes.. it is pretty fast at moving off. Think you need to get used to the scoot first, the biting point, the twist of the throttle... if it still doesn't work out well then maybe it's the scoot's prob. :cheer:

If you have credit lines, sometimes you get banks calling you to offer 2.XX percent per annum interest for 6 months. That's very low interest. Can consider this option provided you can pay it off.

16% interest is just too obscene...

Will do...
