hey folks, was thinking, how do u fix on a hub cap on your vespa wheel? screw on or drill? would it be tight? many thanks!

Screw, have to tighten it up so it doesn't fly off while the wheel is spinning on the road...

The hub cap should come with

another piece

that you need to install on to your wheel.

after that just screw in.

1. what is the difference between a vespa gt 200 and lx 150?

- appearance

- fuel consumption

-speed

-handling

 

2. what is the price range of these 2 models?? can u guys give a rough estimate?? a newer model is preferred.

 

3. where can these models be purchased?any good shops or private sellers u guys noe of?? any motordiam which is selling 2nd hand shops u guys noe of??

Got a couple questions on PX.

 

1a. Other than the front disc brake, are there any differences between the new PXs and the older ones? I know the new ones have an E-start, not sure about the classic ones. Is there anything else? Engine?

 

1b. If the engine is different (new technology). Does it mean the engine can 'appreciate' the V power or premium fuels?

 

2. Which vespas actually originally come with a chrome mainstand? Just curious.

 

I am also looking for a shop/person that can do a good respray of my PX with a customized logo. I'm only asking this because I am told by the auntie at TA they're currently full house with paint jobs.

not a very suitable place to ask abt LX & GT actually, since this is the classic vespa one =) should be asking in the Modern Vespa thread. But is ok, can give you some answers to your enquiries.

 

1. what is the difference between a vespa gt 200 and lx 150?

- appearance

>>Noticeably, GT is bigger in size, has side radiator vents, etc, just google to see difference from the pictures =)

 

- fuel consumption

>>LX is much better, on paper can get you 38km/ltr, actual maybe 30-odd.

GT abt 22-25km/ltr. Anyone feel free to correct me.

 

-speed

>>GT will be faster in pickup. Speed-wise, personally, i think they are quite similar (top speed, that is), just that the cruising speed will be higher for GT. Both will be more than suitable in SG roads.

 

-handling

>>That is quite subjective. I guess not really a lot of difference. Perhaps GT slightly heavier.

>> Currently GT is no longer in production. Not too sure abt LX, price range depends on how old the bike is, so good luck on ur search also. Just monitor the prices now and check out some shops, to get a gauge.

Yup that the one to install one the wheel.

Hum...to make the hubcap spin..

will not said it impossible but think you need to do hell lots of work.

and depend what you really mean by spin.

There was a guy in the US that made the PIMP spinners for vespa et8 few years back, but somehow he stopped producing.... as for geared vespas, haven't seen any pimp spinners before tho i's be interested to try one, heh....
