Yup, 11000miles. Manual says I think at 12K mls or 20K km. The Max will be 2 years old in Mar this year.

 

Personally, I feel that when it comes to general maintenance and parts replacement, the Max is more expensive to maintain then my previous GL1800.

 

Which mech u went to?

Damage for major servicing and replacement $734 inclusive of labour charges.

 

Change OEM parts:

 

1. Rear brake pad

2. Rollers

3. V-Clips.

4. V-Belt

5. Engine oil filter

6. Air filter

 

7. Coolant

8. Battery

9. Spark plugs

10. 3ltr engine oil

 

The Max now sounds like an ST1100

 

Morale of the story .... Dun change at one go !!!!!!!!

 

bro... urs 11k miles u change all this? so fast meh...mine 15k plus miles alr still ok leh... btw the stock belt can last till how how many miles??

Yup I going on sat. Will be there around 2.30 to 3. My wife joining their ladies convoy and i cant join them unless i wear skirt haha. Give me a call if u guys reach there.

 

Hopefully the weather is fine on that day. My tmax feels like a jet ski this few wks.

Well, the manual says 12000miles or 20000km for belt change. Since I need to open up all the tupperware etc to check .... might as well change the parts. I travelled from north to east for work via SLE and TPE so a little kiasu as dun want to get stuck along the hightway. If I were to change them on the 12000miles which would be around Apr ... lagi or bak kark as insurance and rd tax will be due.

 

Big Cow, sent the Max to Thunder. He and MT has been my mech for all my bikes but MT charges (actually Mah's) are rather steep.

Guess they only stock up parts that are higher in demand. Did you ask HL how long you have to wait for the shipment if you order from them?

 

If I remember correctly, I think motorworld advertise that they are able to bring in genuine parts from yamaha and the wait time is shorter. You can try calling them. If not maybe it's a gd excuse to buy some bling bling parts like carbon fibre foot rest for your tmax hee.

Any bros know where I can get ready stock for the foot rest metal piece beside HL & Tah Hin? Mine got stolen!!!

 

shops also take parts from distributor. might as well u go straight to the distributors. waiting time is 4 to 6 weeks. how i know? cos i was the one who enquired for u. haha..... best is still ask ah choong to indent for u. unless u get it from ebay, no one is faster.

Jus wanna check wif bros who use after market exhaust. Do u get alot of back fires when u close ur throttle after acceleration.

 

Any bros here using arrow exhaust? My arrow exhaust sounds like a gilera runner.

Hi bros. Kindly advise if it is worth the extra 1k plus for the ABS version T Max over the normal ones..

 

Personally, it would depends on personal preference. As for me, ABS is a MUST. It gives you that extra confidence on rainy days.

go to stock, but stock also have backfire, very soft, only pillion can hear. and i think your arrow is collecting water when raining. :cheeky:
