1) Normally you all guys pump up to where , for my case i pump up to the very very brim. u all pump just at the tip of the mouth or to the very brim just like me ?

2) you all start to count reserve when final trip activated or when u all see the meter touches the most top red line. for my case, i realize tat when my meter touch the bottom red line ,final trip then activated appear ! I immediately go to the nearest petrol kiosk to refill. I fill in a total of 13.5 litres of petrol and the distance i had clock is already 275km le. From my knowledge full tank is 15 l and base on tmax able to have 20km Per litre , my reading above is weird.

If based on 20km per Litre , a full tank can only last me (15L*20km)= 300km,, how am i going to travel another 50km based on reserve while my distnace already is 275km le.

There a plate at the neck of the tank, with one big hole for the pump gun & 3 small hole for the air to escape. Usually I pump till the fuel just nice cover the plate, anything higher then that will go to the overflow tube..

I am concern about the readability compare to mirrors...Try looking at your cellphone under bright sun you will get what I mean...Imagine with sunglasses...The mirror worked best under bright sun but LCD the other way around..And if batt down and you need to push your bike, you cant check the back without turning back your head...

I don't mean to barge in but just sharing my experience. I had a talk with my regular bike mech with regards to this similar issue and he said that these IU units consume battery quite heavily. I wouldn't noe how much is 'heavy' but if you are encountering issues with your battery lifespan it might be advisable to make a detachable wire connector (a simple 2 wire connector) so that esp in those periods when you seldom ride much or think you want to save your battery's power and u seldom go thru the gantry or parking places that require it, then you detach it. Still if you need to you can plug it back in anytime you need to.

I had such a connector made to my previous bike and I was wondering why the previous owner had it made, now WE know why.

No doubt the 'negative issue' of the fuel pump has been raised time and again but if we search and read feedback from riders all over the world it does not seem to be a very common issue to them. It may have been raised a few times but not that common. It seems to be getting quite a lot of positive remarks instead. I am hoping that if the faulty fuel pump has been replaced then the issue should have been resolved, but it seems that there are cases of repeated fuel pump failures too. Just hoping it doesn't happen, that's all. I just love this scoot for all its performance and look, and it is so popular in Europe, it wld be such a pity if this fuel pump issue cannot be resolved.

my battery failure was due to alarm. so my word of advise is not to install alarm.

IU I don't think it consume much power cuz all my previous ride nv has such problem.

Yup, the alarm is also a strong possibility and has proven to cause such problems.

Wired a switch for your alarm and fix the switch inside your seat compartment. That's what i did. Switch on only when needed :thumb: Too bad scoot can't push start or you still have a chance to ride to the bike shop.

As for the IU, i'm not too sure how much power it consume but for the old version (the bigger ones), it has a battery in it. If left without connecting to the bike battery for a long period, it'll not power up even when you connect back to the bike battery. The last time when i took out my IU and after 2yrs, its dead and lucky still got 5yrs warranty haha.

If you search deeper into those Tmax forum in Europe, you'll be shock that almost everyone are experiencing the fuel pump problem (Tmax fever). The problem why it happen again and again is because Yamaha is slow in responding (sometimes ignore) to the problem and not rectifying to the problem correctly. Even in Singapore, look at how many of us had changed our pump. The luckier ones are those who hardly ride their Tmax. The Tmax is truely a nice bike to ride but than consumers confidence in it have already been tarnished and will only be restored if they stand openly admit the problem and a tested solution to it.

Hi Ray,

Thanks for sharing the info, my, this is really a bad situation to be in. Imagine me foregoing my trouble-free Busa and Silver Wing for this ride? I am too tired to do anything about it right now. Just have to wait and see first I guess. But Hong Leong or Yamaha, Japan should have a recall if that is the case, these ppl are irresponsible if they choose to ignore the situation.

Sigh......

Lucky your car battery amperage not that high or you may blow both battery. No need to remove alarm just add a switch will do. How much u change your battery. Mine also getting weak cause of the pump spoilt and me keep cranking the last time.

That's what I did. Sold off R6 and small scoot Nuovo as I want to use the Tmax as transport. Ended up weekend I rather use my wive's Fino to go shopping if I think it's going to be a hot day and when I had to park basement carpark.

There's already recall in Europe and Taiwan but than Singapore???

Heng is the alarm to cause the battery to run flat. I also surprised how could IU drained off the battery , Previously my spec3 and fazer never encuonter b4 loh.

In fact when my t max is ready for collection new bike, mechanic never connect IU to my battery , reason was as the above -- Drain battery . Must start engine IU den work. I found it very troublesome. imagine u top up cashcard u need see how much, we must open engine. After 3 week of riding i go back to yamaha ask them connect iu to battery for me.

I think is a matter of getting used to it a not, to me i very very don't get use to it cos i had been riding since 2B with IU connected to battery so does kilometers reading instead of miles. That why bought a kilometer Meter from yamaha too.

imo

kmh meter really not necessary. it will be a matter of time you get used to it.

the needle straight up = 100kmh

how often you get to go past that mark anyway ...
