Hi all tmax riders, I am new to the family and has been riding my tmax for almost 3 weeks. I have some questions and hope can get some info from here:

 

The speedo default display units are in Miles, gallons... Anyone take the trouble to reformat it to Km, liters....I heard that is possible but is a lot of work and might cost a lot...is it true?

If is possible, where can we do it?

 

I have a free akrapovic pipe (new bike bundle) coming soon...waiting for it as long q. How much does this cost actually?

 

To install box, we need a rack and a base plate? Or the rack itself is the base plate...

Pardon my noob question as never install box before in previous bikes, new to scooter family...not really sure which is which...

Where can I get them rea$onably...

 

I'm hitting almost 600miles, riders handbook says to send for some servicing check upon clocking, anyone practice this? Otherwise, when would the next recommended servicing? To follow the book anot?

 

Hmm, how much mileage (tame riding) did u guys claim averagely on a full tank?

 

HID light not possible, standard dim lights on both eyes also not legal. True?

 

AC has relocated to......? Is it the best place to service tmax?

 

I have seen digital voltmeter installed on the dash before in some tmax, was there useful and essential? How much would it cost?

congrats to you for your new bike...the pipe i did ask HL before it cost ard 2.2K....i'm using HID now for normal light, high beam is still original. Yup i also service at AC i oso using HB box and for the rest of the question my answer is the same as pgohctoon ......just want to ask you where you bought the bike and how much is it?

Thanks for the replies! Im ok in reading speed from speedo display as its very straightforward . Just that the distance and amount of fuel in bike a little troublesome to convert.

 

Under bright light, i believe most of us can see the unlit km, 100km/l, L in within our speedometer.......i thought is changeable in settings.........based on the replies, i guess there are non-usable then;

Other than the good looks and grunt , does it improve performance and increase fuel consumption?

Anybody interested in getting it? I haven't got mine yet as still on waiting list. MWTS if i get a good offer. PM me for this

2) how much are the maintenance like? First servicing and how much is it for 20,000 and 40,000km and etc?

3) any serious problems are 3 years or more after riding?

4) I am standing at 1.65m. Is it too high for me? Any riders at my height?

5) if pump Malaysia petrol. Is it suitable for tmax?

If it can be used to pump the Malaysia-registered Ferraris/Lamborghinis, why wouldn't it be suitable for just a T-max?

I'm 1.67m and still tip toed, 20000km full service at about $600plus, after 3 years check brake pads, change brake oil, coolant flush etc....follow instruction manual u are ok except wear and tear parts rest are OK

1. Around 21-23k. Depends on COE and insurance.

 

2. Belt and rollers around $380-$400. Engine oil 3 bottles plus oil filter.

 

3. No serious problems since July 2012 for me.

 

4. Cannot answer that as I'm taller than you.

4. i am 1.68m tall no poblem just need to tip toe only...dun worry the tip toeing is very easy to control in case anything happen.

3 years on for me. No issue with the bike as I stick to the maintenance schedule. Always first bike out of the traffic junction. Exhilarating ride. Just a warning if you get it. U have to keep checking your Speedo. It just like to run faster

if you are only 1.68 tall , I strongly don't encourage you to buy . I myself 1.8meter tall and I aslo need tiptoe unless I shift my butt 1 side. but shifting one butt to one side is not comfortable.

 

T max is a tall bike , so u might really need to consider. I would suggest u buy silverwing, that one suit your height as I found the seat base is DAMN DAMN LOW.

Actually Tmax's seat height is not high..just that the seat is very broad.
