I'm using Michelin power pure SC. Dunno about how long it'll last but it's said to be dual compound or something like that.

So far no local reviews. Don't know got other people try this tires or not. Just want to try other options than the normal diablo scooter or the stock Dunlop sportmax

For the second time my fuel pump giving problems.

 

Have a late 2009 Tmax bought in July 2011. In my first week noticed bike won't start when hot and left for 30+ min. Will only start again after many hours of cooling down. When I called Hong Leong they told me "known issue, just wait few hours". Not good enough for me so told them to pick me up and fix. Cannot have a bike that won't start. So fuel pump replaced. Only had to pay for labor. At the time (2011) did some searching and found many other with the same problem. Often referred to as Tmax fever. There were recalls in Italy and Japan only.

 

Now 2.5 years and only 9.000km later SAME ISSUE AGAIN! Very unhappy because Hong Leong replaced my faulty fuel pump with another one that has the same inherent problem.

 

And this time they wanted me to pay new pump, labor, everything. 350+

 

Very unhappy with their service. Told them NOT to replace the pump as I never want to have anything to do with them again. Until today had all my service done by them. Even a $1,600 accident repair job! No more. Will find a replacement somewhere else. AC seems to be good...

 

Will also lodge a complaint with CASE. Doubt that will do anything but still...

Some of the 500s replaced the same pump on the 530. The fuel pump on my 530 seems good after more than 20'000miles. Been through all sorts of conditions from standstill jams to high speed touring.

Where to get headlight protectors? I go eBay/amazon also no luck

 

Motovation got Barend,front, and rear axle sliders for tmax? Any other brands?

standard EO change and filter, still done at Unique.. But looking to go elsewhere soon.

Most of the Tmax guys go to AC motor at kaki bukit. Don't ask me for the address I only know how to go. I find his pricing is reasonable plus ah Choong himself rides a carburetor Tmax.

on a sidenote, any idea what is wrong if the engine area on the exhaust(RHS) is making noise..

 

not the usual sound, but sounds like a slight knocking sound when starting up the scoot.

 

sorry ah! noob on my tmax 500.

Check the mounting point for exhaust any loosening, check pivot points at swing arm any worn rubber bushes, put on main stand and shake about your exhaust or at header nuts loose
