So far i never heard or read about abs issue on tmax. Abs works for me. It prevent my bike from skidded sideways. Useful on a wet weather too. Tmax accelerates well so sometime u need to use abs when car in front of you jammed brake

Hi all. Intend on getting my tmax soon. Still on the fence to go for ABS or not. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Why not get a maxi-scoot with ABS & traction control as well?

Posted

go for ABS model. i've locked up the front wheel on a few hard braking situation..

rien d'autre que le max.

yes , this scoot begs u to twist the throttle. Get the Auto Buang System model.

anyway, i miss wildcard.

You can try order from ac motor. At least a month wait. Jcosta is much better in my opinion. I'm enjoying it.
bro, care to share what weight ur using and performance diff compared to original.. I'm on 18g..revs higher on move off but stops at abt 6200rpm...speed wise meter creeps up from 160kph onwards...

I was wondering if lighter rollers would help push the revs higher..

btw I haven't change my belt till now. it had already been 26000 KM liao and still going strong . no sign of damage or any funny noise. I intend to change at 30 000km . perhaps maybe my speed usually at 90kmph at kpe tunnel and this could be the reason y my belt so lasting.

Wonder how u can see that there is no sign of damage since the V belt cannot be seen as it is enclosed within the assembly.

The belt you see connecting to the rear wheel(Tmax 530) is not the V belt as per say. This drive belt should last min abt 70K.

Changing V belt at 25K is pushing it(Yamaha recommend change at 20K).

Changing V belt at 30K is really pushing it but Safety is relative to individual.

Guess if in country should be okay for break down service but not advisable if you plan to travel up north.

ABS model of course lah.

Im on 18g too because i dont want to reduce top speed too much. I read that 16.5g is also common but it reduces top speed by 10-15 km/h. 16.5g will revs higher than 18g and accelerate faster.

I see.. What did u manage to hit with the 18g? Did ur rpm go above 6200?

No. Because i installed top box and use stock exhaust. Need to modify more. Thinking of upgrading to 560 cc.

Just a question which i've been pondering about e last few days.By changing to JCosta Evo variator, improved acceleration will definitely be felt but wouldn't it affect e lifespan of e V-Belt as it's now subjected to more abuse & stresses?Cheers...

Yes i think it will affect. But by how much. I dont know. So far 6k miles, the belt seems ok. Anyone knows how to know if the belt need a change? I guess the only way is to take it out and look at it.

Yeah e only way to check e condition of e V-Belt is by removing and man-handling it..

Hi. I'm thinking of getting a tmax 530 abs.

A few concern which I would like to know from the current tmax riders.

Is the matt black cleaning difficult as compared to the glossy one?

Which workshop do you recommend to do servicing?

About 23Km per litre +/- 1km.

Everything else is standard OEM except for the full Akra exhaust system.

I get about 17km/liter. Don't know is the traffic lights or what leh. After you all change the exhaust did the mech do the tuning on the dash board of your bikes? I saw him press the CO setting to 10 for both.
