my first set of tires still. Felt very confident turning corners at high speed so i reckon i will stay with it for the next set.

Hi all, just gotten my T-max a week ago :) Needed some advice on the running in stage, I read the manual and was advised to stay below 4.1k rpm till 600 miles, but honestly below 4.1k rpm is seriously too slow and draggy (70km/hr?). I'm maintaining at 4.5k rpm constant and occasionally 5k rpm for overtaking etc. Will this affect the engine?

Also I've heard that after the 1st oil change the bike will be much smoother and accelerates better there on, how true is this?

Thanks and ride safe~

Its just a guide so don't think u have to religiously abide to it. I like you find it hard to adhere to but some others will follow it during the run it period.

4k rpm is really the norm rpm for my tmax CVT transmission at crusing speed of 60 to 70.km/hr

After oil change, i find my petrol consumption is better. Can't tell if its smoother though. During first oil change do check for belt alignment as well.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I doubt i can adhere to it cause the draggy feeling is a pain below 4k rpm. The urge to push the bike but restraining to below 5k rpm for now. Anyways, constant 140km/hr - 160km/hr on stock isnt a problem for this bike right? Roughly at which rpm likely i'll be at that speed?

To be honest i hardly go above 100km/h in SG but most ppl say its very stable at high speed when travelling NS highway in Msia.

You just have to wait until after your run-in period to feel it for yourself. :)

Hi guys newbie here. Just collected my iron max yesterday from Republic motor.

I have 3 things to ask..

1st, any of you guys ever experienced that the seat don't open when you press the button. Need to press the 2nd time then it releases.

2nd, I sometimes hear a thud sound from the front when I jerk the bike.

3rd, is it normal to hear like a mrt sound when slowing down.

Thanks in advance.

all 3 i experienced.

1. it only release the catch. there is no spring pushing the seat up so u either have to be mindful in using your hand to lift the seat upon pressing the release or buy a 'spring' fm bsc in carousell.

2. i cant be sure but i think it has to do with the hydraulic oil pressure not pumped up and abs not kicked in when brake is pressed hard. i OCCASIONALLY get this when i depress the brake really hard at low speed.

3. go realign the rear wheel alignment.

Tks alot...I mostly hear the thud sound when parking the bike, upon pressing the brake. Or when I'm travelling at crawling speed and pressing on the brake.

For the alignment part, have to go back to HL right?

Hi guys. I went to HL this morning but nothing done for the fault I encounter cos today theyou having the 7th month prayer.

Manege to speakers to one of the technical staff. The tak2 sound is actually from the front brake caliper when it's depressing the brake pad. He said sure got sound cos, the pad is sitting between the calipers and it has some allowance for it to move. Don't know how true....

For the MRT sound coming from my rear tyres, he said that the belt tension is too tight. He will loosen it on my first servicing...
