Im a newbie here and i just got my 2b lisence not long ago. i fancy vespa and gilera. i had intention to get a scoot and im keen on this two. But i cant decide. a lx150 or gilera vxr 200 or st is find for me.

I intend to use it for transport to work. Out of these two which is better fc? wads the disadvantages and advantages of riding them. in terms of maintaining between the two which is minimal? :p (i heard the gilera cld be costly yes?)

Any advice guys? Thanks!

the advantages of the vespa, it is stylish but lacks of top speed at only 110km/h before the power cuts. For the gilera runner will cost a little bit more to maintain but has lots of power on the road with a top speed of at least 140km/h. ;)

We use 4 scooters in the family, 2004 Gilera VXR 200, 1984 Vespa PX200, 2004 Sym Joyride 200 and 2005 Yamaha Majesty YP250, all had its pros and cons, so a simple maintenance and good FC was the Sym, Majesty, Gilera and Vespa in that order.I also had used a Suzuki Epicuro 150 scooter before selling it to a friend, also easy maintenance and good FC. After market Dr.Pulley roller/sliders and U clips and good Kevlar belt can help for good acceleration, deceleration and uphill power....theres tons more item to add, after market exhaust system, etc, etc, etc cheers

i'm just wondering how much is gilera fc?

A fully stock production Gilera fuel consumption will be 22-24km/Liter of petrol. :)

Dear all,

Any reliable workshop to recommend for periodic maintenance/servicing? How often to service e.g. every 5000km, 10000km or every 6 monthly etc; and also any particular engine oil to recommend?

Many many thanks!!!

2nd hand gilera owner.

I recommend AC motor at 10 kaki bukit rd 2. Level 2, 2nd last shop.

- every 4k replace engine oil and oil filter. (Oil Filter can be replace once very 2 oil change with spark plug)

-every 12k, full service shld be done. Replace of belt, u clip, rollers, gear oil, spark plug engine oil and oil filter.

*Cleaning of air filter, inner transmission drive as well as checking of coolant level and colour (best to flush every year with factory premixed coolant no need to add water) can helps to prolong bike smoothness and lifespan.

*All recommended mileage abv is only for a guide as well as stock set up. Aftermarket transmission set up will varies the servicing schedule.

Btw servicing scheducle can oso be delay or bring ahead which up to individual like and perference or due to sudden component wear and tear.

Engine oil, is always advice to use Fully syn, Grade 40. Brand wise is up to individual. Common seen are motul, maxima, agip and more.

Anyway, good luck and do ride safe!
