Dear all,

Any reliable workshop to recommend for periodic maintenance/servicing? How often to service e.g. every 5000km, 10000km or every 6 monthly etc; and also any particular engine oil to recommend?

Many many thanks!!!

2nd hand gilera owner.

Engine oil fully syn is recommended... most importantly stick to a place which is most comfortable with you and the mechanic. :D Some guys from the forums can also help you efficiently with your questions too! Ride safe bro

I would like to know which are some of the best shops to purchase the Gilera ST 200. Best as in good price and with aftermarket pipe package as well. Looking at brand new. I usually buy my bikes from Mah but they dont bring in Gilera. Need it urgently! Thanks!

go to bike production. got mine $1000 cheaper than a s phoon, albert and can say all over spore. BUT the after sales if ****ed up. so if u wanna buy from there, juz come by mthly to pay ur installments n get out. they are unfriendly, rude and annoying BUT still offer the best price. i'm still gonna get another bike from them becuz they quote me a gd price. hope this helps

Looking for riders who have tried both bikes to give some honest opinions. I have a vxr200 now but needed just abit more power for highway duties.

Not looking at maxi-scooters because i like the small scoot nimbleness. Is the power difference significant?

I've been riding Gilera Runner RST200 since 2006 and had recently traded in for a Vespa GTS300 (1.5 months ago)

The pickup for both bike is quite similar (progressive).. But the mid and top end of Vespa GTS is significant better than runner.

One thing that surprise me the most, regarding both of these scooters..

My Vespa fuel consumption is very good, compare to my previous runner...

For my runner, I can fetch around 24-25 litres per km.

For my Vespa GTS, I can get around 30-32 litres per km.

The GT300 definitely outperforms the ST200 if you make similar gearbox upgrades. The reason why fuel consumption is better is because of their fuel injection technology. :) Weight differentials... the gt300 is definitely heavier. If we put both side by side... with some serious upgrades... the gt300 will definitely smoke the runner in no time!

but of course, price is also a big factor to consider. since the 2 models you are comparing has a little difference in pricings.

I have ridden both too...

Although Runner has all the plus factors like cool full 200cc carb engine, alot of mods and ease of resell,

but i would stick to GTS more due to the smooth FI engine, 278cc but packed a punch for highways, and Vespa,

needless to introduce, is almost like fashion on wheels.

just that accessories dun come cheap and you just cant get a cheap givi box on it! (original cost like $620)

Hi all, I need some advice, I just met with an accident.. Bike skided due to oil patch on the road.. Not even 5 minutes after some passer-by help me up to recover, another bike also suffer the same fate.. Call LTA, and they only got the SCDF to do a clean up, not a single officer came to investigate.. Called my insurance company(NTUC) about claims, they told me nothing can be done because it's considered self skid and I'm covered under 3rd Party only.. I know it's not my fault, it's a road hazard.. Can someone please advice, bike needs some repair and I do think it's unfair for me to pay for it.. Thank you all for your future advice..

Suggest you immediately go change insurance company if they really don't cover. Some insurance co. can be really shrewd, and you don't want when really big accident happen, they say "sorry not covered, you ownself pay."

And this happened on my beloved MP3..!

most ins co. wont cover self skid 3rd party unless u r on comprehensive coverage but u still need to pay for ur own excess b4 u can claim.

Luckily tp din slap u wif a fine & demerit pts, dats wat happened when my fren self-skidded on kje tp came dwn charge him for causin inconvinence & obstruction to other rd users.

Btw hw did it happened on a 3 wheeler? (MP3)
