Visited Guan Hoe to view the 650 today after receiving their call. Only 1 here for the LTA homologation. It's in a unique gray MATT paintwork. 2 white n 1 more gray ETA min 6 weeks. All are executive model.

Under seat storage can take my Nolan n104 n close with ease, both forward n aft position. whereas in my SWT, only in forward position n needs some forcing to latch. Front 2 gloves compartments fits my fist all the way in. All compartments are rectangular n boxy, much like the older burgman 400.

Off the side stand, bike feels balanced, Low cg, feels like phantom or shadow, doesn't feels like 27+kg at all. Able to stand (me 176cm) w/o strangling the seat. Main stand never try, bike not powered up also. But Generally has the Suzuki Maxi feel.

generally, clean looking. Most bolts hidden or replaced with clips, from ride position, only screws I see are the reservoir covers'.levers'are blocked by the reservoirs.

Good first impression, now waiting to see how the white looks physical. Tempting coz specs are excellent, not too sensors based, CC ideal for local N overseas, final drive on reduction gears (not belt or chain), price competitive (20.1k cash w/o coe, ins). Only cons are the oil loss problem (maybe) n weight.

Anyone riding the new 650 burgman yet? Interested to get this bike..

Seen the bike too.

Everything seems good but I don't understand why they should bring these bikes in with heater for handle bar & seat. the heater switch also quite bulky.

sheesh. the boot is really small compared to the old model and yet the weight is still the same.my previous burg650 could fit in 2 normal helmet

Didn't get in the end. Was adviced by GH to wait for the white then decided which colour to get. Finally after the white came n I happily went down to confirm, GH u-turned on the price, 10% increase. :what: now re-evaluating my choice, beamer @ 21k or this.

All exec model have that. Agreed on the bar heater switch, looks cheapo. Why can't Suzuki added another beside the seat heater!

agreed also. Boot space is so critical for me too.

@MR BIKER can you advice if the maintenance support from Suzuki is "there", is the engine oil loss problem a pain, ease of fuel top up on side stand only.

AN650L3 (current): All mod transferred.

SW-T400 (till oct 13): voltmeter, safety features disabled. coocase v36+remote. Adjustable, folding Brake levers. Givi AF318 windshield. on-off switch(pilot light, head light, hazard light), electrical seat unlatch,Dr pulley.

AN400K6 (apr07-dec11): side deflectors, J Costa variator, Dr pulley slider + HiT clutch.

so is there an update on e engine?still go stopper bolt problem?

i cannot think how much smaller the boot space can be,but the tail reali look so much better.

price is reali ex too,but tech is there involving the control of variator.

at least parts n service will be cheaper than bmw.

The main mech is at Kaki Bukit . He is very very good. cant recall the name. almost all the workers there are very friendly.I had my burg for almost 9 months.like most burg 650, it was well used. imagine 6yrs old and it has gone 105000 km and in that 9 months i had only 1 problem--overheating. i changed the bolt because i kept reading about a problem so kiasu me just changed it because the bolt was only about $ 10.

if not the scoot being 270kg and lower seat and me being 20 yrs younger, i would surely keep her just for that ride up north to malaysia (thailand??? no). I have had 40 bikes, I would surely rate the burg650 the top 5 i really like. the previous burg does not use belt but some clever technology. wonder if the new one uses the same??

aaaah. No wonder. I too saw that. Previously, it was sold at x shop a year ago. That owner should go to suzuki service shop at kaki bukit. I am sure that problem can be solved but at a cost

Any prob doing refuelling on side stand? Like won't achieve full tank, tank opening's view partially blocked so cannot see the level etc.

*As I understand it,

After run-in period,

Suzuki manual stated eo change at: 3500 miles.

That is equivalent to 5.6k km.

Usually, I change before 5k km.. (Play safe)

I use 300V.

Suzuki recommends 10W 40

Coolant: If I see, no signs or symptoms to a possible problem. I will change it every 2 years.

Spark Plugs (TWO is needed)

Can usually last quite long if you use Iridium.

You should use Standard range type. Not Hot or Cold plugs.

Changing spark plugs on Burgman 650 Exe is not difficult.

Just a little tedious because of the confine space to work; within the bodywork near radiator.

* Please be informed, I am not from the Motorcycle Industry. I am just an enthusiast to 'Bike & Car Engineering'. Not a 'Guru'.

Please use own discretion.

I loved my Burgman 650 Executive. I used it as an auxiliary runabout vehicle. Not my main vehicle.

Was hoping that the new 'Made in Japan':Class 2 Burgman would up the displacement to 800cc or more. Oh well...Meantime, I will just keep holding on to it. Been more than 5 years ownership to date. Can't find another reliable Japanese made, Class 2, high specifications, high cc scooter of this sort(Touring type with huge under-seat storage) as I will only fix my H/Becker box for short touring. Not in Singapore. Sigh'

Perhaps, one day we can meet up & discuss 'Offline'.
