Next change is the rear disk brake to the yamaha logo..

And heavier balancer..

Hi, I just got a x1r. Can check something from the old birds here? I install front 80/90/17 tyres. The mechanic say it rub with a metal u shape bracket under neath the mud guard, so he took it out. Does it happen to your bikes? I changed rear to 110/80/17 no problem so far although I think the correct size should be 100/70 right?

 

Front brake disc change to 300mm with bracket how much?

hey bro, if im not mistaken the front metal shape bracket acts like somewhat a weight for the front of our bikes making it a lil more stable, our bikes are very light in the front.

correct me if im wrong anyone.

using 80/90 tires in the front shd not be a prob as the metal bracket shd be a factory fit.

 

er 110/70 is a lil bit too much, unless your bike is modded with big bore, sp carb and high cam all. cause if your bike stock the power is not there resulting in slower pick up = heavier bike, more stable for cornering BUT

do u use all the thread? =] if not its a waste . if u are a corner/track freak than it shd serve its purpose, but if u are using it for normal commuting its too much.

i downgraded my 110/70 to both front back 80/90 haha.

eliminates all vibration till bout 100km/h than slight vib

1. Meter was bought 2nd hand. The one Lim Ah Wan posted to me

2. Left my bike with unique motor for 4 days.

3. As i was 'supposingly' the 1st X1R to fix the koso meter, i told them to take their own time to experiment all possibilities.

4. I cannot divulge the labour fee. Dont want to spoil the market.

5. Job well done, i must say. At least the original look of the the bike dashboard is maintained. earlier on, they wanna to remove the entire bike head. i told them 'no'. that would be superly ugly sia

Flowery discs will not get stuck somewhere. Disc will only get stuck if its warped. That goes for normal round discs as well.

Here is a question for you. Have you gone for inspection? A simple yes or no would do.

 

Check your wiring. Cannot be battery problem if it can be started remotely.

Voltmeter was placed it there temporily because i know i will be doing a Koso meter on the bike. Dont want to put anything on the dashboard yet. After all is settled, then i will move the voltage meter to the dashboard there.

woops sorry for the misspelling. just woke up you see.. anyway, i tried cornering downfork and upfork. to me, there is a difference, it's more stable when you downfork. just sharing what ive experienced haha no harm

I changed to 110 rear becos it's more stable even when riding straight. when cornering bike feels heavier and does not bounce that much when kana humps when cornering. Hmm I think I will try to put back the metal bracket since so many people using same size no problem. Thanks guys for the inputs. I agree the bike feels heavier but I don't go fast. So many uncle's cubs always overtake me. I just enjoy riding relax on left most lane and only overtake when there is a super slow lorry in front. Bigger tyres also looks nicer (my personal feel only) Hehe.

 

Where to get the front yamaha logo oversize brake? What's the size? 300mm? Price?
