I think there is no redline cos there is already a fuel cut off at 8250RPM for DT300i

Manage to hit 8400rpm@150km/h with no cut off/pull back. Just that the scoot cannot go any faster down the mountain LOL!

With 14g Flying roller. Original roller max 144km/h @ 8000rpm.

Funny no redline indication.

Maybe no chances of redlining.

...but I found a Taiwanese webby asking Xciting 250 owners to change to downtown rear clutch set to lessen the move of vibration. Anyway, to check which model is your downtown 300i. SK60 or SK60AStamped model number are located on the left side engine area near the full stand. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/jeryll/d9a38838.jpg

I wonder what is going on......lol

Anyway, I have spoken to Desmond and ............ my life is even more complicated than ever.

Gather I will just live with the problem (kind of bearable if dun compare with SW).

Or a good solution will come up.

Have you tried heavier rollers before on your DT? What brand other than Kymco can we utilise on our DT?

Waiting for the 16g or 16.5g sliders from tai hin.

No news on useable parts on DT.

Now only can wait for the new scoot to arrive and try to use it's parts if it is different.

Scoot to look out for is the XCT 300i using the same engine and hopefully improved parts.

Maybe the 400 too.

Thanks for the info =D

Don't think the DownTown has a red-line per say, but just base it on the max rpm the revo shows lor.... Haha.

And by mountain, which mountain you go to?? Haha

Malaysia mountain highway, very nice :thumb:

The feel of nature.

cos the DT300 is redline thorughout the speedometer....LOL

Mine can get 155kmh at 8250kmh on level road. slight faster below 160kmh when slight down slope

This was verified with another DT300i (same year as mine) while touring to Hat Yai last year

Wah! Fantastic figure :thumb:

Didn't know DT can hit this kind of speed.

Now tempted to go LEA7.

I tried but gave up cause the pickup is so slow, cannot be ridden below 80km/h.

Then assuming LEA7 max rpm @ 8000rpm = 140km/h

and LGE5 max rpm @ 7750 @ 140km/h

Then LGE5 will have a higher top speed at 8000rpm as compared to LEA7 at 8000rpm.

Now that paithorn mention that it can hit 165km/h @ 8250rpm really question my theory again :p

Confuse confuse.

Old Downtown good stuff leh Good fuel consumption, powerful and top speed

New Downtown "sniff" sniff" higher fuel consumption, lesser power and lower top speed.

Then again, mine's a LEMON.

Thanks paithorn for the info, was going to give up trying after i get my hands on a heavier sliding roller.

Now have to go back to the drawing block. No engineering back ground is a headache. Have to depend on my simple theory.

Haiya, have engineering background also so what??? Most of the time, engineers aren't using the equipments they design/ repair lor. Haha.

Don't forget, these days, it's the sales and advertisements that convinces the buyer.... =(

Now here's waiting for Hyundai to start making scooters as well. Hehe!!! :)

Ha ha , no worries, still very good 155km/h @ 8250rpm (flat road) compare to my 150km/h @ 8400rpm with pillion fully loaded luggage with 14g roller and downslope and achieve only one time in 1300km ride at wide open throttle most of the time :p.

Quite impress with Downtown, was like thrashing it all the way and still runs fine. No funny noise during idling too. So far so good :thumb:

Sorry hachi, i got it in a goodie bag when i sign up a ride with Motorsport(Kymco) by Magbikers to the KL motorcycle show 2012 in march.

Motorsport should have stock for Idemitsu. You may wanna call them and check - 67496717 (UBI Branch)

Wah you use for 3500km.

I use it for engine flush ha ha ha. No lah maybe the most 2000km. suppose to use 50 instead of 40.

Feel normal though as my oil don't go pass 2000km :p
