By the time you've reached year 3 or 4, the bike will be worth less than the premium you've Already committed! The loss equals the full otr price of it brand new.

Sorry. It makes no sense to me.

Yes yes. I know. But insurance isn't about making sense or not. It's about personal assurance.

I can't put a price to that.

Help me understand. What kind of peace of mind does it buy? Does it provide medical benefits to the rider?

Wahahaha!

Exactly, I think the Xciting has a better leg space due to its design at the leg area.

but exciting (the old one) got a uglier exhuast. Plus only 270cc

Well, comprehensive does cover for my own damages as well.... Third Party does not.

Alrite... The premium can take care of much repair though.

Take care.

There's a Myroad thread in the Scooter subforum. It's about $18k OTR. Available only from Motor Sports along Macpherson Road. Google for contact info.

Yup. Yup.

The roads now VS my parent's time when they were the same age as me, totally different.

It's gotten more congested, more crowded, more selfish people.

It's a fight for survival on the roads here.

Chemol - Dont waste your breath and time on him. He is ALWAYS right. By the way he has 40 years of road experience in Singapore and even in Johore Bahru. Now also in Taiwan.

All of us is like peanut to him

Chemol - Always listen to Doremi. He has the MOST experience in riding to even Thailand. He has Class 2, ridden all sorts of bikes, from PCX 125 to GTR 1400. I very pitiful. I only Class 2B nia, and only ridden DownTown 125i.

All of us are nothing compared to him.

Doremi is the BEST!!!!

Well, he's 19, like I was, a long time ago. I don't even remember how young and foolish I was back then.

Doremi has kept himself alive through many years of riding. I hope that you will be in a similar position years down the road.

There is a reason for the absurd insurance premium you're paying vs. Doremi's or my rate. More accidents happen to baby riders (like yourself) under 21 than any other group.

Over the years, I've seen and lost many friends, acquaintances to riding accidents, including a riding instructor with >20 years experience.

Not to scare you, but I hope you learn enough to keep yourself alive in the coming years ahead.

Take care, and be safe.

Well, thanks. Yeap. I know why my premiums are so high. In fact, only MSIG and NTUC are willing to insure 18yrs old riders (those who just passed their 2B). The other insurance companies, only insure from 20yrs onwards..... If NTUC/ MSIG are like the others, then may as well make Class 2B for min 20yrs old and above people.

We have to adopt the ride safe and anticipate attitude. So many foreigners on our roads with essentially the licenses they got back in their country. All they have to do is just take our local theory test to have their licenses converted. What a pity.

Not to forget, there are also plenty of drivers/ riders out there without a license.....

I'm glad I'm riding an auto rather than a bike, so that I can concentrate on the road, and not the riding itself. Not to forget, those crazy cub chia from Msia. Weaving in and out of traffic, especially on the expressway at above legal speeds.... Look out for them!

One of my Class 2B instructors imparted a piece of wisdom that stuck.

There are no old and foolish riders. The foolish ones are either long dead or Class 1 converts.

Oh well.

Anyways, new Class 2B learner bike (for anyone interested) at SSDC is the new CB125 =D No more CG125..... =D

Hey scooter brothers...

I am organising a free and easy ride from tuas 2nd link to mersing to penyabong fishing town and back via route 50 and exiting NSH thru Ayer Hitam then slowly back to either Bukit Indah or Kulai for dinner...

There is basically nothing much to do at the fishing village, but good scenaries and probably a good ride is the point..

welcome you guys to join ;)

Check out the scooter section cus i am posting it up later...more details there!

Just drain my gear oil to check and look see.

Wah lau, Heng I drain. I thought hear oil suppose to last 20,000km or more!

The oil is Greyish and covered in metallic particles. I hope the gear is not damage.

Too much high speed cruising maybe :p

Top up with 210ml of 80w90.

I changed at 200km if I remember correctly as everything is new and tight and wears off properly.

Must change at next 5000km and see again. Actually gear oil should be as good as new as there is no carbon like engine oil.

For the oil to turn Greyish is wierd to me. First time encounter this. Piaggio and Gilera I change before all Swee like new oil when drain. Maybe small cc and travel in sg only.

Next wanna change coolant. Anyone knows of a good one or recommended one to get?

Preferably to SLLC type. No antifreeze if possible.

Save the hassle of changing every 20k or 40k interval.

Hopefully can last 100k to 200k ha ha.

SLLC = Super Long Life Coolant.

If you can put a quick tutorial up for changing the coolant will be much appreciated. Good luck finding a good one.
