Went to change my engine oil just now to OWS 800 Synthelite for $26. Bought at Unique Motorsports.

But gotta bring the oil down to MotorSports as they don't change oil for scooters.

Changed my spark plugs and oil filter and gear oil as well.

Total damage: $56, which isn't too bad.

Our DT comes fitted factory original Iridium NGK Spark Plugs leah. Haha. That's like $20/ piece.

Saw one guy traded in his FBA Xciting 300 for a used FBF DT300i, which was bought at $9k, with COE $2k. Ah Lau told me, he just had to top up $3k thereabouts, which means a 7yrs old Xciting 300i still can fetch $6k. Pretty good!!

Then one guy currently riding Grand Dink 150 approached me and told me if I were to upgrade to Class 2A, he don't mind taking over my DT125i. Haha. =D

I told him, I Oct then can go enrol for 2A, by the time I get my license, after waiting for test dates and all, it'll be early 2013. He says he can wait, as all his previous bikes all ride for super long.

So fortunate to have a ready buyer now! Haha!

My DT don't come with iridium.

May I know which iridium plug MS use and what is the iridium plug model that was on your DT before you change?

NGK Iridium I bought $12.

Posted (edited)

NGK Iridium lorh. Haha

Didn't take note of the $10 spark plug they used though on the receipt its stated NGK Plug.... Haha.

Maybe its the imitation one??

With all these changes, my 0-60kph acceleration time has improved. Haha!

Why I wanted to change oil just 3225km since the last change was because acceleration felt draggy, and top speed took a much longer time to reach. In fact, top speed was only 110kph. I couldn't reach 120kph.

This time round, tried OWS.

That said, Ah Lao told me he's gotta friend who also rides the DT125i, but using Japanese engine oil, which he reports is even better than OWS.

So will try it out the next change.

Looks like it that you are the only Like here but like many, Like owners who ride Like may not like to come here to post their Like. As Like is rare and they may not know this site to post their Like. So if you see a Like on the road, remember to let them know about this site, so can can post their Like on the Like thread and hopefully like what they post. Looks like the Like is very rare and like many bike shop, don't carry Like and because other bike shop never display Like nobody see so there's nothing to like but if most bike shop have Like then there will be people who like the Like and join the Like thread in this forum. Then those who buy Like will like to come to like this forum to post their Like and what they like about their Like.

My acceleration times have improved by 2 secs, but top speed wise, still suffers a bit.

Flat road, used to be able to hit 120kph.

Now, it stays at 110kph after a long time. Only down hill then can reach 120kph.

It is probably the Moty's oil used by Firesaint! The one I'm using on my bike.

Yup same as mine. If I ride hard occasionally is 23km/l.

Consistent 25km/l even with 2 up.

When I did my longer run last week, my FC went up to 28.5km/l....:p

Hi Guys, may I know why you guys pick downtown 300i instead of xciting 300i? Thought of waiting for Xciting 400i but don't feel like waiting anymore and wanted to get Xciting 300i.

what are you looking for in this 2 models?

I am riding a xciting300i and I can tell u the cornering is sweet. at first I was thinking more one safety but when I started riding.. must corner haha..running on full forks. aggressive outlook..

these are the reasons y I chose a xciting over the downtown. fc wise I think dt will be better.

I am currently hitting in the 20-24kml region. depending if I am late for work more often for the tank. and also I travel very short distances to work. 10mins away despite on highway abt half of the time. after that is stop and go for next 5mins..so maybe tts why cant get better fc.. but I m guessing only.. not sure..

Latest fuel consumption: 30.3km/L =D

Result of checking my tire pressures regularly at 29psi or 200kPa. Latest fuel pumped: Petronas 97.

Hmm.... This fuel is interesting as it somehow could reduce the DT's vibe during stationary.

But it's gonna drink more I heard.

And this time round, I pumped until the petrol came out of the tank. Haha!

People here are very helpful. Thanks so much for the information. Did you guys go seletar reservoir? But if the fuel consumption is only like 24km/litre, that means have to pump every 4 days. hmm..

I chose xciting because of the looks. How fast do you ride when you hit in the region of 20-24km/l? Is the power enough actually? Just wondering how much difference can another 100cc makes, referring to Xciting 400i.... I pillion quite often.. wanted to choose a bike that can put at least one helmet and a rain coat. Definitely getting a Kymco but not sure downtown or Xciting.

I think meeting at a reservoir will be a first.

Guess we'll prefer to lim kopi instead

Put at least one helmet and one set of rain coat no problems even on the Xciting.

In the DT, you can fit two sets of helmets and possibly squeeze in two sets of rain coats as well

=D

Xciting to me looks much fiercer and aggressive than the DT.

Seletar seems to be a good place to gather for bike riders.. COE rise again.. crazy... Think I will choose Xciting... prefer the looks... but why no oil filter.. so weird.. Is there any nice box to go with Xciting? So I can put another helmet.. really nice box..

Anyone knows?? ANy pictures?

Nice box??

Hepco Becker?? Haha.

Nice boxes are a matter of perspective. I like the Kappa K53L top box. But I think it's a little too big for the Xciting.

http://www.kappamoto.com/cases/monokey/K53

Anyways, COE is still cheaper than when I got my DT125i with COE of $2k.

This kind of COE price, still acceptable lah I guess.
