Cameron is b4 Gerik.

Can go there for a stop b4 we rest at Ipoh.

Nov/Dec think is monsoon season.

Since our Tour King cum Speed Queen had voice, so I was pinning hope on them to lead us

If anyone indeed is willing to organise long rides, perhaps these tips that have helped me would assist you in return.

For the logistics:

1) decide on what kinda ride it is(Fast n furiuons, scenic slow n steady, kup n kup, etc..)

2) set a date where most will be happy

3) meet with the people to discuss on the route(optional)

4) collect $$ if hotel is needed

5) call up hotel to ensure rooms(never a nice feeling when damn tired but no rooms)

6) talk to others who has been there so as not to get too big a shock when there

With that its only half the work done...

For the ride part:

1) plan the route with appropriate stop points to accomodate all riders, esp when most pple like to ask "how long the dist or how long more to reach"

This would include a list with distance breakdowns and location names.

2) ensure stop timings arent too long/short and coaxing pple listen

3) emergency numbers just in case

4) ensure a set of spares & tools should there b a breakdown

Usually when most of the above are properly done, then those who tag along the ride would find it enjoyable. And on most trip i do, i ensure all of these are done prior to setting off. Organisation generally is 80% of the headache.

These things in front are seldom said aloud, but alot of these are often unconciously "expected" from the organiser. Not that i'm showing off or whinning but these sorta things takes quite abit of energy, time and not to mention $$ to make it smooth, safe n enjoyable..

With all the stresses n pressures from work, i'm rather tired of doing all these background logistic work for the time being. For this period, i'd much prefer to be the follower.. When i'm re-energized, you guys will def noe it..

If anyone's willing to organise, i dun mind leading at all... Just show me the route. If anyone needs help along the way, we'll you noe who to ask...

Cheers!

thanks jleo

wat's pull me back from Gerik is this part of land.

yes, the sceny is nice but safety of our followers are wat's worry me.

at least at this point of time, it seems like Thailand is safer as to compare.

maybe i'll go for a reccess b4 we can start any thing.

will see wat we can do from here.

by tat time, hope u can help to tag n lead.

So Custom, are you planning the Gerik Trip?

I would love to but can u imagine the organiser last mins disappear in the thin air? :giddy:

Hv to plan hard...

For me, the important thing is enjoyment during the trip. So most likely will have enough time everyone to do almost every thing.

Our grp so far is one of the best, go means go, rest means rest... but still my "restless" job at times may not give me the time to plan... so in the end kenna fark up.. :faint:

to share my idea,

we stay one night in Camon/Ipoh, next day go Gerik/Thailand.

To reduce stress, most of the riding will be in the day lights but it is just a plan.

To map out a plan and put to actual is still far away in tis moment of time. o_O

7th mth finished at End of Sep so still have a lots time...

sh*t! how come my hair start to drop again... :nono:

Swift, believe u have something in ur plan... maybe you start 1st... I love to follow behind ur back...

O one more thing... jleo, although ur bike is small as compare to us, but still have the biggest backside among us... :lovestruck:

I agree on the easy going part of the lads here .. Been a great bunch to ride wif...

Big backside is no choice one as the fast rider needs space to bring along the 'necessities' in order to keep the looks up in line with the ride speed. Dun play wif this person i warn to others!! :help:

Actually Swift and i haven been talking and some time back, we had actually decided to do a 3D2N Cameron Highland ride this end sept, 230907 - 250907.

Well since he's the initiator of this, let him be the one to bring us the details.

Guys,

Yday I went to "Sanfu" to service my bike carburator plus tunning... Great job!

Bike done by one of the mechanic Ah Chiang. Spend half a day there but worth doing it. I would like to recommend anyone of you guys who intend to service their Divvy there..Good workmanship and reasonable price!

Reason being why I have to service my carburator because there is rainwater in my fuel tank. Sometimes bike didn't go as smoothes as it is. Its due to the HL mechanics who accidentally clipped my fuel tank access tube and resulting the rainwater to slip through and unable it to flow off the tube. As such water start to get into the fuel tank. If i didn't do it fast, it may be worst in time to come.. I managed to drain all my petrol and threw all the water in my fuel tank when they doing the servicing with the help of the mechanic.

Overall spending money is S$110.

Service plus tunning carburator S$75

Fuel filter S$10

Rear breakpad S$25 (NewFern)

Fixed my TP cluch cable (Item bought at Autocycle at S$26)

Draining of fuel

Checked on tyre pressure

Washing of bike

(Bike done-up)

Whereas, HL offer me S$120 (Servicng and Tunning)

Original breakpad at S$70

And all items before labour and GST Charge.
