Hi Guys,

Today went down to EB to change engine oil Motul 10/40W fully synthetic about $22/- X 4L top up 3.4L spare keep for next change...oil filter bring down yourself to save some cash.. as I have asked around some places the Motul engine oil the price varies please check around for better pricing. Custom did get some better pricing but I think it is during promotions only...

I've heard about this motul 10/40W synthetic and i believe 10/50W synthetic is much better according to Custom:Viscosity wise.

I still haven't change my cone bearing yet although i can hear "cricket noise" coming from my steering cone. Saving some money to change everything at one shot at Looi's: Cone bearing, fork oil from soft to medium grade, installation of brake hose which i just get from Custom and new pair of front brakes. After all these, will consider to change a comfy handlebars and good tyres. And then can follow you to Thailand border already.hhehehe.

Hi Black Angel,

a) You want to do all at once must have the cash, If not one at a time prioritize which is important then follow up by least priority...Your cone bearing already worn replace it first don't delay too long until the new cone/bearing also cannot be use (the cone seat becomes loosen due to vibration and shocks)... price of replacement should be less then $150/- incl wkmshp.

b) Replacement of Spoke oil to medium grade -including workmanship should be $60/-

Handle bar and steel braided hose can change together on your next servicing...(need to reroute the cables and wiring)

About motul fully-synthetic engine oil ...the new stocks are 10/40W if you still able to get hold of the 15/50W thats good- they were of earlier batch.

As our bike are air cooled -15/50W is a good choice-as the engine works slightly hotter then those of water cooled bikes- 10/40W slightly lighter only please do not add in any oil enhancer's as some workshop recommends.

If you are going to change engine oil- bring you own oil filter(Automachinary $14/-) looi's I don't think they have/carry yamaha oil filters~ they'll use honda filters even thou they can fits/mount it in- the engine oil pressure for both bikes(Honda/Yamaha) are different..!

Just changed my handlebar grips recently from Mtech in Ubi (The BMW shop)

$35 for the BMW grips. But it is a bit short. Nevertheless i will be thinking of installing the BMW Handguard to cover up the gap between the grips and the balancer.
