Hi Heyrul,

Yes, you can DIY. If only the shaft gear oil and the gasket Item no. 27, part no. 214-11198-01 on the 2xbolts. It takes you the most 15mins.

If the bikeshop charge $80 for this kind of simple job, think twice.

But, if $80 is to change all the seals inside and on the rear axle gear case assembly. Please let bike shop do it.

:goodluck:

Bro Mctan,

Its not the gasket its actually the oil seal. Shd be the inside oil seal either >Page D9 and D10 ref No:5 or 25. I believed that more to item No:25 whereas we always wash the bike and spray water onto it. Nearer to the rear rim.

I'll join for top-up at GP if my fuel runs low by Fri okie.

But I'll turn up for the meetup at KTM.

Am I still welcomed? :cheeky:

Casper,

Haha.. Of course you are welcome to join us... No worries! I also wanna see your FJR. Nice LED lights!

Shop coat me S$80 in all for the replacement of the seal and service charge.

Hi Heyrull,

The $80/- is for replacing the oil seal the 'rubber dust cover ~ the one inbetween the gearbox output and the drive shaft'.

Ask the mechanic to check the breather whether it is blocked or not~ the one above the final drive casing.

Before assemblying back the tyre ask them to grease the gear you see on the rim~ where the shaft drive contacts.

And finally buy the "1litre mobil shaft oil" it's around $23++ fully synthetic 70-90w the oil can last you up to 5 oil change.

Hi Buggers,

Yesterday I replaced my front tyre to BT090 at HKL about $125 including balancing.

As for my bikes' rear tyre I was already using BT090 its' grip is very good and its' a soft tyre, I believe I can estimate the tyre can last about 10 to 15mths depends on the usage.

Plus point Good grip.

Minus point shorter mileage.

Hi SG,

You mention you wanna make bigger guard, it means more metal already lah.

I modified mine from small B to bigger B, what I told SK did is to cut away the top part and weld a bigger one. It is not just add on.

He charged me cheaper than making a brand new one.

Next time raining, better abandone you bike and take cover. hehehe

Btw, vehicle/bike will not prone to lightning.
