Another DIY.

Changed my muffle gasket and starter carbon brush set today.

Gasket $10 ea from AC

Why change? Muffle vibrate alot on the move. Connection between muffle and pipe is losed and abit of air leakage.

Starter Carbon brush set with O-ring and seal total $45 from AC

Why change? Having some difficulty in starting the bike, need to crank afew times and the brushes have reached about 9mm.

Very easy to start bike after carbon brush changed, one short crank and the bike started.

It is important to inspect the brushes and ensure they are not less than 8.5mm.

iF the brushes are worn off, will have difficulty in getting the bike start or can't start.

It is on the left side of the bike, between generator and body frame.

It's quite complex, but still can do it.

You only need a size 10 spanner and a philip head screw driver.

Spent about 1.5 hours to dismantle, clean the interior, replace the brushes etc.

Step 1. Remove + and - from battery

Step 2. Remove the + cable on the starter

Step 3. Remove 2 x size 10 bolt on the starter

Step 4. Pull out the starter

Step 5. Loosen the 2 x philip head screw

Step 6. Dismantle the starter

Step 7. Take out carbon brush and replace

When I got my bike, both side were tighted, Recently right side loose and left side tight. after change both gaskets, both side tight again.

You may change one side only if you want to, it is not really critical.
