so i guess ill change to regular plugs then. sorry my full tank is 30-32 bucks not 35. abt the jets. i just go bike shop n ask them to change my jets? wat engine oil is the best for our bikes? u guys usually change to wat oil?

price of it. plugs itself can last very long. by changing normal plugs, can get more mileage than a set of 4 iridium that never been change. imo performance mostly depends on the condition of the plugs. msia vpower is rm2.15 per L? then 35/2.15=16.2l. u can pump so much? check any leak or u need to service the carb. the needles should be like straws.

 

i just serviced the carb less then 1 mth ago. wash n tune. im going to change the jets and air filter when i get my pay. is there anything else to be done? i really hope can get much better fc. its way too high now..

i believe his rubbers mean the manifold.. the rubber connection that link the carb and the block.. for spoil manifold, u try to press the rubber and u will feel it very hard.. when the engine is running, u will feel slightly strong air blowing out of the manifold.. if not, no need to change..

Hi all.....

 

I'm riding a CBR400RR....Got the bike for about 6 months and I have spent nearly 2k on repairs only.

Yet I'm still facing problems with my bike.

 

1) Fork

I have problems with my fork where it doesn't bounce well. There was once I saw a leak. Hence sent to bike shop to change oil and shield. Few weeks later.... leak again. This time round sent again bike shop.... Then got problem again.... it doesn't bounce at all....

 

2) Brake

I service my brake so many times already..... Even change the front calipers. My brake is terrible... No matter how hard I pull the lever... it will not have a strong grib... The braking is very dangerous as I could never be able to brake in time if there's any emergency as the brake won't grib....

 

3) Starting of bike

Sometimes my bike can start.....sometimes cannot...

My fuse will burn every month....

I sent to shop UNBELIEVABLE many times! I have changed into a new battery....new amplifier....new coil.... change a couple of wire...blah blah blah....but yet still I have this problem. Also I can't start with my headlight on...

 

4) NO power

I can only wrack the bike a gear 1 and 2....after that cannot wrack already... The bike simply has no power....

Its very frustrating when you open the throtte to the fullest and try to wrack...but the bike is still maintaining the same speed or it only increase speed a little.... I has sent the bike for full servicing for 4 times WITHIN 6 MONTHS!!! I have even change new oil filter...air filter... and exhaust pipe....still same!!!

 

5) Bumping

Do you guys have problems with bumps? I know bikes will bumps on uneven roads... However mine is very bad. Even on straight expressway...my bike will bumps all the time... I'm not talking about small or light bump.... the bike will bump quite bad and its all the time... I have send to press the rim....I give up...and change rims...change tyres.....YET its still the same....

 

6) Handlings

Everytime I ride my CBR.... both my hands will cramp like mad... The handles are vibrating very badly... I sent shop for repair... Everytime they knock the handle and try to do don't know what balancer.... but still the vibration is there....

 

I really cannot take it already.... I have spent so much on this bike within 6 months but it never improve... I don't think the bike shop I went all this while is good nor helpful too... Anyone facing these problems? Can advise me what to do?

 

bro, mine is L model.... FJ plate..old sick bird...

other problems occurs slowly... within the period of time i was with it..

lets say touch wood u spent 1k... Overhaul... who knows when the problems will come again.. this is the Tricky part.. I supposed u know wat i trying to bring across...

 

mechs can even tell me...Brother , u do up liao, same problems will come again in no time..nbzzz.. they can tell me this man.. i try to push to many shops, they dun dare to eat.. coz they say very hard to sell.. True man!

 

Advice to you lor.... dun waste money liao... push out la... i not gloating over ur misfortune... nor i am discouraging you....

Blame myself onli, i was too naive... i thought they will do properly...no problem if i pay a bit more..

 

and one more thing... i had to bear the transfer for old and new bikes... 2 bikes...haiz... no black and write.. that ash salesman... just calculate verbally... conned into his sales talk....

 

lost definetely more than you.. rode less than 6 months.

 

let u know more from my experiences.. at least better for u.

 

now with smaller cc... not siong lor... the Petrol comsumption already made me smile.... haha

 

Long pain rather short pain ar...

 

dun think in the ways that, u already spent 2k liao.... then wasted if u sell... sooner or later... u had to sell... with more than 2k i believe at that moment.

wah scary sia hear u all talk abt ur blades. i initially regret buying from the bike shop i got from cos the owner like **** but now when i think abt it im greatful i got my blade in superb condition. got to thank the previous owner if i got a chance. anyway all the best to ohlins. hope ur problems get solved soon. cbr is a great bike man.

Well I doubt I will push out the bike coz even thought the bike is a pain in the ass

I still love the bike. I have recently spend 750 just on the spray and design I like. So if wanna push out...I don't think so. However I really wanna repair it regardless what it cost.

One more thing... why I switch bike shop....

I would love to stay with one...however they seems unable to fix the problem...only know to ask me to change

this and that.....Then when change already.... the problem is still there...As usual...this is a old bike...what to do... its like dat...*siGhz*

Planet is a good shop although Ah Chong could be irritating at times...but to get the job done will take a very long time. Its like sent one day to get one thing done...other things must do next time... *LoL*

Anyone there who had same prob like me and sent to a good shop who manage to solve the problem?

I had enough of shop telling me to change this part and that part but yet problems is still there and blame on the bike's age... damn sia....

 

N'way I heard you guys talking about plugs right?

I used to negotiate with this man who sells titanium and uradium plugs....very cheap... 1 set of 4 plugs for $50.... you may try lor.....he lives in hougang... I kind of lost his number... but I think my friends has his contacts....

However a word of precaution...this plugs works very well on brand new bike rather than old bikes. My friends riding new bikes have no prob using this plugs in fact they are pretty pleased with it... Well personally I never tried it....but I know other friends who used old bike....like srad n CBRs having problems with the plug...

Less than 1 month one by one the plug will wear out... well this is what I know... maybe I could share with you....

But I also would like to include that my friends using the plugs said that they felt much better power with their bikes including those using old bikes.

:thumb: Hi bro! Sound very much like me. Coz I also love my baby blade and hence have been pouring more $ into it. Anyway, I think you can try racewerkz too. What I like is that they can tell me what parts are worn and will help me priortise what needs to be changed first. (This give me mental preparation of the costs involved) However, if you want them to help you really solve the problem and trouble shoot, please be prepared to leave the bike in their care for a day or two. My blade is still in the process of having parts replaced. Good luck!

then on the same day. there was an accident which happen outside planet minor road... a Mazda 8 and if not wrong with a Toyota..

 

yeapz.. i was there.. who were u n wat bike were u riding?

 

u use semi eo? iridium plugs? u wash carb got tune, change the jets and stuffs? m3 or diablo.

 

i used motul 5100.. normal denso spark plugs.. i guess the price was reasonable..

if yr present mainfold is working fine, changing it will not increase the performance.. unless yrs is spoil while u ride for a period of time, u will feel the diff..

well.. my personal friend introduced me to tat shop n they hav known each other for many years.. nvr did i thought tat 'friends' will turn out this way.. yar.. will learn my lesson well.. anyway hav u started sch? can meet up for lunch or smth.. haha..

the manifold is a channel that link yr fuel mix wif air into the block for combustion.. if the manifold is damage or leak, there goes yr petrol into the surrounding.. u juz hav to place yr hand around the manifold to feel the air..

same theory as yr exhuast if leaked..

Racewerks is not the only shop that do bikes..other shopes do well too..this is kinda challenge actually nvr hear ppl change calliper kinda over a bit coz juz insuff braking doesnt mean change calliper..kena con sounds like it..overhaul the calliper n pump will do.change the lines..costs less.

If u overhaul 1.5 -2K mite as well get an engine fm Japan n just put in kip the old as spare or sell parts better.Guanrantee no prob haha

I agree that there are definately other good bike shops around. But I think I can only afford to vouch for the shops that I am a customer of.

Actually, the reason that I got my baby blade was exactly coz the previous owner overhauled the engine.

 

Anyway, Talking about brake calipers, when the shops say "bleed the brakes" what exactly does that mean? As in to remove the air from the brake calipers itself? :confused:
