Had my cashcard stolen yet AGAIN. As much as I try to be careful about it I tend forget at times, and as a result I keep having to buy new ones. Thing is, I have the CAN and registered the card on the NETS website for this latest one which got stolen.

Needless to say am fed-up and pissed off. Cos I left it for a short while before remembering I forgot to take the card out and it was GONE. Plus it was given to me by my gf when my card got stolen the last time and I promised that I won't lose it again...

Should I bother making a report and get the thief into a whole crapload of trouble? Or just let the matter slide?

The only way the thief will get caught is red handed and the police will find ur card on him which was reported missing that will help them to place a charge on him. Other than that, reporting will not help much.

Just be more careful the next time, if need to get a small number lock and lock your IU.

the NETS thingy only covers cars, where windshield is broken into etc, correct me if im wrong. get leather IU cover to cover the whole thing to DETER thieve but not foolproof. like what other forumers said. get a lock for me is the best. good luck

No point to get a lock.cuz those desperate ******* will stil force to open it. i had dis experient on my IU b4, therefore, the IU cap break into pieces.

My advice is,Take a photo of ur cash card, and flip ove ur cash card, u can see a long serial number behind it, write it down, store in ur hp or places that convenient for you.

once lost, report dis serial number to the police with the photo u tk,

by u need to take a photo, it is because dis will be easier for the to check or trace the cash card.

hope dis help.

what i do is as i already know i am forgetful

i try not to have more than $10 on the card at any time

but also am using the new slim IU so can use ez link card

with that ( i also use leather IU cover )

i always keep the cover up so it looks obvious when i'm riding

and when i dismount make it a habit to do the few "security checks"

keys, handle lock, IU unit, box

Grounded... :/

Take a photo of your cashcard serial number. If stolen report the serial number to the police. The police can trace if the cashcard is being used in some areas. This is how some cashcard thieves were caught.

I do have the cashcard number. Thing is am asking whether its worth it to get someone into trouble over a cashcard? Would you do it?

it's not about the value of the card

but the principle of the matter

if ur IU is near to the ignition keyhole, perhaps u can put smth like this in ur keychain. kiap the keychain accessories thingy (for mine is the black color "U Rawkz" that I got from my friend) to ur IU cover whenever ur cashcard is inside. When u off the ignition, and have forgotten to take out ur cashcard, u cannot keep ur keychain. since i used this method about 2.5yrs ago, I have not forgotten to take out my cashcard.

talk about losing cashcards, i've lost like $50+ over worth of cashcards. most of the time i don't really check my cashcard iu since my bike ignition key is not there, and i lost them mostly either because i'm busy or talking to another friend behind when dismounting.
