I ve no idea. Lol. Ya since u noe tachoman, i suspected u noe this cam too. It was e very 1st i eyeball before i started my keychain trial. So far i ve not found any negative news regarding e website. And e admins quite quick in responding to my queries. And tachoman also bought from them + e various comments also say buy no problems. So i hope... Lol. Paypal ve protection anyway and chinavasion recommends to use paypal which speaks volumes also.

I saw the extreme cam on dx while i was finding a cheap waterproof camera. Was finding for reviews which led me to techmoan.

However, I was quite skeptical about paying >$100 to dx even with paypal(there are cases where money is yet to refunded due to some admin lapses). So didnt buy it anyway. Then I saw DV1 at marina sq. It looks decent enough and cheaper than extreme cam, so I brought it instead.

chinavision seems to be a bigger scale version of dealextreme. If you ever order from them, let me know how did it go! :D Tons of "toys" to buy from them.. :cheeky:

From the above link the RD32 seems to be better than the RD32ii? Or I got it all mixed up? Getting the one with eight leds like alvin's seems to be better.

Ya seems tat e first rd32 he dun like. E rd32ii seems to be better. Then came crocolis. but crocolis e size wy bigger. 10x5x5m

Posted

to clear things up...

he tested the 1st version RD32(4 white leds 4 IR)...verdict: lousy which cause dark colours to turn purplish...

then the manaufacturer send him a upgraded RD32(8 white leds)...the one i got...improvement over the 1st version...not bad for the price...

but both cams record in avi format which he does not like and have big file sizes...

then comes the RD32ii which records in FHD 1080p...this ones saves files in mp4 or mov format(can't rmb)..this one review is good...

if planning to buy the RD32(8 leds), get from dx...

cheaper than chinavision...

do take note of the difference on the website and get the correct 1...

the RD32(8 leds) are slightly more ex than the normal RD32...

Hi, I've been reading bits and pieces of this thread. I'm interested to mount a camera on my bike (XJ6S) to use as prove should any accident happen. I've had close shaves as well as actual accident which a car side swipe my bike and accuse me of being in the wrong lane! :(

Can anyone recommend which/what type of cam to get? I saw on today's New Paper on an onboard surveillance cam (model: CB 014) selling at $400.. anyone tried before?? Or is there any that's similar that has front and rear cams?

Thanks in advance! :)

Just in case but wat u saw may be for cars. Basically for riders i think we ve to consider a few things.

1) weight

2) water resistant

3) size

4) price. :)

Too heavy too big no good. Water resistant in case rain. Usually if u search for action cameras will fulfil e above. Price wise will be an issue. But if u r ok with paying $400 just go buy gopro. Comes with many types of mount, handlebar, helmet, suction, etc. Else a few tat this thread users use is

Alvin: rd32

Lycan: ge dv1 $129

Me: fake 808 #16

Someone: gopro $499?

Other models to consider is crocolis, real 808 #16, rd32ii, etc. So ask urself question 1 to 4 first.

Thanks for the speedy reply.. i just went through the above mentioned cams and i must say the crocolis did catch my attention... price wise it is definitely more affordable as compared to gopro. :thumb:

anyone keen in getting the crocolis? the website offers bundle discount for 3 or more per perchase.. :cheeky:

Whenever I passes by a shop that sells gopro hd hero2 , I will go in and admire the demo video.

The quality of it is freaking awesome.

However, the price of it makes me think twice about it. Hahaha..

From e picture I think he did a comparison between crocolis and this cam side by side. This new cam is almost e size of his hand and crocolis is roughly same size. Wonder if i can really mount crocolis at e side of helmet

Dun wan gopro. Too ex for me. Too extreme sports le... I rider, not racer. =D

Ya, a bit concern about the weight. My current keychain cam is less than 20g. Crocolis is close to 200g... =X Think ve to buy and try then noe. Worse case mount on handlebar... But dunno my double bubble windshield will affect quality anot. lol

I bought a keychain cam. The video quality is quite bad as the video of the road or any black surface has purple tint/fringing.

for $18, cannot complain much lah. haha.

btw, does anyone noe how to reduce the wind noise? tried every corner of the keychain to reduce the wind noise but to no avail. Would love to hear more of engine sound while on the move.

Sad tat u may ve gotten a bad batch. Mine cost $8 but quality ok. U can search youtube for 1981danielling for samples.

Noise cant be isolated. unless u diy and pull a microphone to ur engine or exhaust area such tat e noise u wan will be louder than environment. Else u ve to be good at sound editing and attempt to filter out e wind through technology but i dunno if tats even possible.
