ups for the endurance

esp 16 hrs riding..

I had Expresso overload that's why I could endure on the road that looong...

But when I reached the hotel, I was getting quite cranky. :argue:

Have to carry so much baggage lah... have to carry all of them up the stairs lah (the hotel has no elevator)...

And my legs could hardly move when I got off the bike. :giddy:

i think in that... Pplater did better in this aspect! :thumb:

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

Geeteethree, the problem with navigating onto Route 35 is that the route is not labelled numerically on the ground. Since most major highways are labelled numerically in Thailand, Debbie and I kept looking out for Route 35 and ignored the right turn towards "Bang Phae"; we suspect that was Route 35.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Day 17 - Genting Highlands & Day 18 - Genting to Home

On day 17, we went to Genting's outdoor theme park and walked indoors too.

On day 18, we packed up and headed home. This concluded our 18 days Laos-Cambodian tour, spanning 7100km across 5 countries.

With Debbie's 2A licence and less than 2 years' riding experience, she overcomed huge psychological barriers in mounting this tour. It is likely unprecedented for lady tourers going beyond Thailand. Even most male tourers I know have more experience than that before attempting something on this scale, even if they bring small bikes up.

In my concluding post, I shall let this 2 pics be the inspiration for lady tourers in future. Now who says women should only ride small bikes?

In retrospect of the Tour

I was really nervous before the tour. I didn't know whether I could actually pull it off. I have limited experience in riding. In fact, I have only been riding for less than 2 years. I didn't know how to cycle until 2+ years ago.

One week before the tour to the start of the tour, I was in total paranoia. The night before the tour, I couldn't sleep properly. I was in cold sweat. Just so worried. But guess what? Since it's something that I promised myself that I must do it, then I can't go back on my words right?

The learning curve was really steep for me. I never really ridden on Thai roads before this tour. Betong is not counted as Thai road because the condition of the road is better compared to the rest of Thailand. Not only I had to learn the conditions of Thai roads, I also had to experience Cambodian & Laotian roads which was worse than Thai roads. Imagine experiencing new roads of 3 countries in 1 tour!! :giddy:

I did freak out in the middle of the tour sometimes. :argue: :argue:

I was just so scared! But somehow in my mind... my brain tells me "You have already travelled so far, come on... it's just a little bit more... little bit more.." That was how I pressed on throughout the tour.

But I'm really glad that I could make it! And definitely when you set your heart & mind to achieving something, you will press on and make it!

I'm very thankful for someone like Zhehong who was a more experienced rider than me and for being very patient with me!

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

Gee.. If China would open up the borders and cut the red tape, I'll surely sign up with Deb's on the next tour out.

Hi Both, I just attended the HOV organize by u guys recently.

I would think it is also the safety (Practicing HOV) making the trip a success.

Would like to join if there is such a convey trip and organize by ppl like who emphasis on safety.

This is real life experience :thumb: Great !!

Oh man! I think over there, you get to practice various aspects of HOV that you will never encounter over here (cows, cow dungs aka landmines, road surfaces, etc.).

I'm glad to see you there and that it was of benefit to you.

Thanks Burnt. But don't just go this far. Go further than us, like others have done before.

And then go further somemore after you're done  There are many places to go, and many things to see.
