hey guys.. can some1 recommend me any good shoei helmet ? my budget is around 300 - 500.. btw, anyone who owns a shoei helmet can share their views or ask any queries here.. =)

Don't think the helmet price will rise till $1080 as stated by your friend.

If its really true than it's insane.

I'm looking for a full face.. do u guys have any idea abt the model RF 1000 n Z-6 ? or any of those below ? = )

Own a Z-6. Really good and light, but the mouthpiece is quite close to the rider's mouth. X-9 and X-11 further away. Z-6 lighter than the X-9.

 

Shoei fits my head better. Arai mouthpiece's parts are double-sided stuck together, while Shoei uses screws. Great thing about the Shoei is that you can buy the cushions separately and replace whatever is worn. Total cushion internals about $120 to 4150 or so I think.

 

Buy snug, but not tight. The Z-6 does not expand much with wear. X-9 expanded more.

however from my experiences, if you have the chance, do head down to Japan and see it for yourself. I seriously feel like plucking the shop back to sg.

Are you sure you need a Shoei?

Do you own one already? Or at least did you already try it?

Did you try other brands?

 

Why I'm asking is that the shape of the helmet should correspond to the shape of your head. Helmet should sit tight, but be comfortable. Tight as in "one size smaller is impossible to put on"

just wondering, other than collection , does anyone bought a expensive helmet like this n dun wear it daily for safety reasons.. is it due to the bike( e.g spark or wave) ? but seriously , i have not encounter ppl who wear full face riding tat bike..

i wear my scambler helmet, HJC CL-X5(daily helmet)

I wear my OGK FF4 when my daily helmet is being washed.

U nv encounter? join the chinese cub rider outing then u will see me.

 

Open-face riders laugh at me now, wait till u lose ur jaw and i will be the one laughing.

 

rider who make fun of FF cub riders are rare.

non rider who make fun of FF cub rider are 99.9% of the population.

i own a z-5 its excellent as in the ventilation n sizin for my head, very light also so no probs for long distance travel

didn't noe tat the z-6 would b in town so soon

don't care who is laughing...at the end of the day...i need to be the one feeling protected. so don't care what kind of bike i'll end up riding...but definitely some kind of helmet that will protect the entire head...either full face...or enduro style. right now using half face for class 2b lessons though :-)

 

btw, anyone using hornet ds? what is your opinion on this helmet?

hey chill man, people might laugh at what they see, but i certainly do agree safety first.

 

besides, its unique and despite riding a kup, i think its cool to wear a FF.

if not why those kup grand-prix fellows doesnt wear a Half face helmet?

i tried my friend's Hornet DS. not bad, ventilation is there and no fogging when visor is down.

jasper: try wear a FF scambler helmet, as much wind as a open face.

But raining = GG cant see... because no visor.
