setahu aku first 500km dah kena tukar EO pe....asal lak kena til 2000km???

err.. last time aku break in on road (super4) I did it

 

0-500km - mineral EO + filter, below 5000rpm

 

501 - 1500km - mineral EO + filter, below 7000rpm

 

1501 - 2000km - mineral EO + filter, below redline

 

2001km onwards - synth EO + filter, sampei meter abes :p

 

1st 500 is the most important. The rest was just for the piston rings.(I like to be thorough):angel:

 

lepas tu sume naik dyno....

Fazer aku......

 

1) Keluar kedai.......singgah Caltex (ke Caltix??).......pump full tank....terus gi ofis.

 

2) Lepas keje......pegi cari jalan raya yang panjang dan lengang.

 

3) Do alternate short burst (with gear changing) + engine braking.

 

4) Next day.....(meter reads 47km).....jumpa Mekanik.......tukar EO + Filter.

 

5) Ride normal...with short burst (whenever there's a chance)......with engine braking at all time.

 

6) Change EO + Filter......at 500km interval.

 

7) Hit 3000km (or some where there)......Fully Synthetic + Filter.

 

8) Next thing I knew.........I was at Phuket with my new ride.

20% 40% 60% 100% full bore

change EO + oil filter.

haha.. now dah stable. dah bleh chill.

 

 

i like to used engine braking rather den steppin onto da brakes. tapi will it do affect da engine..?

y not cuba hard break in...anta dyno..rumour say it its beta den conventional break in..tts wat i did wit ma fz

Sorry. tak dapat join korang tadi.

Was at racewerks for Hard Break in.

Norman is pleasant, banyak question yang dia answer. Went home a happy customer..

Total damage $96.

Upgrade from GSR 400 to FZ1-N mestilah obvious dia punya difference kan..

Next EO change was recommended at 400KM, then can wait till 5000KM.

Bout the Helmet Lock.. daah figure it out. The 2 guide hook for pillion seat can also be used as helmet hanger. My problem solved heheh.

 

Any1 can kupaskan the function of Power Commander.Was infromed can bring down the heat from the engine, Betul ke?

 

Aku recce race shield to protect from small stones scratch. quoted $278. Worth it tak?

Engine braking is recommended during break-in.....to pressurized the piston rings to seat nicely! (that's what i understand......correct me if i'm wrong)

But engine braking cause slight skid on my Fazer.....

Protect scratches...yes! Protect from dent......dun tink so!!! (That's what fellow rider explained in previous post)

 

$278.....ermm.....for protecting the tank.....can get a tank bra less than that price!

aku boleh tolong kan hard running in... aku free on the 24th october.. but aku boleh kasi motor balik on the 25th oct due to some unforeseen circumstances... I will run in ur bike for a total mileage of about +-800kms.. i will also run in all the gears involve.. short burst and long stretches is my forte..

 

i provide FREE services.. On top of that, petrol will be paid by me... however pls do change ur engine oil and oil filter before passing ur bike to me..

 

Offer valid only on 24th October 2009... 8am onwards.

Disclaimer: i will not be responsible if any damages occur during the running in period.. But i promise to take good care of ur bike..

aku rasa it's called breaking in..

 

"breaking in" and " running in" sama.. cuma nama je lain..

 

 

aku ader kawan, time tu dia beli gixxer brand new.. breaking in or running in blom habis fully, dah try top speed... before 10k kms mileage, engine dah tick tick tick sound very bad.. found out valves and shim alignment semua lari.. nasib baik piston not affected yet.. so kalau nak kata rosak, tak lah... cuma blanja lebih je in the future..

 

nak pakai synthetic EO terus?.. boleh.. kalau kau ader kemampuan, why not?

One of the reasons why mineral oil is used is because of the cost of the oils. Since running in period, kejap-kejap kena tukar engine oil, put it in dollars and cents... lebih baik pakai mineral oils..(aku also ada kawan pakai semi synthetic during his running in period, tapi dia anak lord).. then again kalau kau mampu, silalah pakai synthetic oils.. aku rekomen motul300v 15/50 double ester based....about $28 per bottle.. need 3 bottles kalau kau bawak FZ1..

 

 

actually motor besar and motor kecik kalau brand new semuanya sama.. selagi enginenya baru..semuanya ader running in period.. same as cars, lorries, vans, pick-ups etc etc.. even kreta control nya engine pon ader running in period..

 

 

hope that answers ur questions..i'm sure there will be more answers for u coming up soon... kalau tersinggung jgn marah..:angel:

nope...in fact, it's good for your running-in :thumb:
