Cold check is better. This is when most of the circulated eo returning to the sump. Else you may overtop.

Checked again just now without idling the engine for a few minutes first like the manual says.

Dipstick totally dry at the end. Looks like my oil is almost all gone? Lucky I check...

one word of warning: check if your bike is on really level ground and bike is level. alot of parking places the ground not level and this resulted in a number of misreadings for oil level.

operate a vehicle in a way that you benefit other road users pls - and meanwhile, stop whining! be responsible and be safe.

Remember if no eo on dipstick.. dont ride .. go buy and top up before u ride.. shld find in any petrol kiosk or motor diam.. and if ur old eo evaporated and the mileage still far from lets say 1500 km since changed.. u shld use a thicker oil or hivher viscosity

Right, I'll check again when the bike is level. I checked when it's on its side stand.

So if the oil is really gone, I just have to drain whatever there's left through the nut at the bottom and refill through the dipstick hole right?

hi, check when the bike is upright.

really depends on how long you used your oil. If you just changed and the oil is gone, you need to have your bike checked, in this case just top up and send it in. If your oil is due for change, you can consider draining the oil at the bottom and refill via the top.

No idea there's a custom 3 or 4. I only know in terms of

Gen 1 TA200 where

1. the ignition is at the side

2. Triple tree has 3 indicator lights

3. No fuel low warning sensor

4. Fuel cock has 3 positions On Off Reserve

5. Has a Kill engine switch

6. High beam low beam toggle switch

Gen 2

1. Ignition switch at Triple tree

2. Low fuel sensor plus warning light

3. Chrome Fork covers

4. Wider handle bars than Gen 1

5. Passing light button at left handle assembly

Custom Black edition

1. Generally same as Gen 2

2. Chrome covers are in black (side covers, fork covers, speedo meter housing)

The choke is useless for some of us. Mine is even broken and I didn't even bother changing it.

Any idea where can i get the chrome fork covers for Gen 1?

Another silly question. When reading the odometer, we ignore the last digit right?

When I bought the bike: 714343

Right now: 715263

So I have travelled 92km so far?

Thanks UshioChan!

Another thing, I just noticed that I can remove the key after switching on the engine. Is this ok? Because according to the manual the key isn't supposed to be removable in this position.

At least you found out without losing your keys.....I found out reaching home, with my home keys in the same bunch.
