my friend encountered the same problem too, he was riding a CBR L model. he went to "hua chin" in bukit batok st23 to patch up the radiator. cost him $35 and 2-3 hours. Till now his radiator is still working fine.

i'm riding the hurricane also. It leaked about 1-2 years ago and I couldn't find any cheap shops to repair it. I ended up approaching a car radiator repair shop at bt merah to make 1 for me. totally new and costs about $30. removal and installation DIY.

Whatever it is.. never use those additives that fixes the hole just by pouring some stuff into the coolant. It works for a short time and jams up the whole system.

To do list:

- Steel brake hoses (In progress...)

- Rewire bike

- Repaint fairing and clean up bike

- Replace exhaust system (DONE!)

Do you mind telling me more about that shop? I want to rebuild my CBR R model radiator as well. $30 is definitely a very good deal!

A new radiator will cost ard 400+. u can mould a totally new one, ard 150. Patching might not last u, e.g some leakage places cannot be patch. Meanwhile keep topping up the coolant, keep track of ur TEmp.

It is one of the car repair shops in Bt Merah. I walked the whole of Bt Merah Lane to find 1 car shop willing to do it for me. Forgot which shop exactly. But I started from the row where HKL is and walked the entire loop (came out at the AIA building side) with my old radiator asking if they are willing to make 1 for me. That was like 2 years ago already.

I think what they did was to reuse the top and bottom pieces where the inlet/outlet pipes are and replaced all the 'pipes with fins' in the middle.

If the leak isnt too bad, u can try URS Radiator Service located at Ubi...Close to Extreme Motors...

But u would have to dismantle it urself and send it over to the shop..Afterwhich the guys there wil examine whether it's still repairable or not..

Send my rad there last time to fix up a leak..Nice job for $15 and 1 day..

Here's the no for the shop....67477682 or 67410217..
