what bike you riding.

if 2b bike, then dont need to worry because 2b bike speedo not accurate.

btw, what the road speed limit.

if 90km/hr, dont need to worried too much.

A second of precaution is an hour of safety. It never hurts to ask.

Just wondering...

Is it scientifically proven that the speedometer of lower capacity bikes are not accurate? We hear it so much on the forums that people seem to take it for granted. Is is the case even for newer bikes like the 2006 RS125? It comes with a digital speedometer does it?

Where does the inaccuracy lie? The calibration? A speedo is a speedo ain't it? I would tend to think that manufacturers would make bikes with accurate speedos no? I'm having serious doubts about how "inaccurate" a speedometer on a smaller bike is. Someone knowledgeable please enlighten me...

its true that 2b bikes have inaccurate speedo. theres different between analog and digital the way they pick up the speed. even among 2b bikes speed can be different. try a rs125 sp tzm kr riding together along side eacho ther. speed different can be up to 30km/h bewteen different speedo and the higher u go the bigger inaccuracy.

don't say TP hiding lah... Everybody knows that they operates from overhead bridges, nothing new. All you need to do is open your eyes wider if you want to speed. Or you can slow down when you approach the overhead bridges

hmmm.... when u said it is true... how true? as it has been fairly tested? if ur argument is because of digital and analogue speedometer, then many cars also use analogue. the car speedometer also cant be trusted too..

i read smwhere in this forum that if a c2b and cl2a/cl2 ride on par, the cl2a/cl2 bike show a lower speed reading whereas the cl2b shows higher reading, like 20km/h - 30km/h higher.

if the difference can be as great as 30km/h, shouldnt the speedometer defective? why the bike manufacturers dint ractify?

i m not here to repute the myth of cl2b/cl2b/cl2 accuracy of speedometer. just hope that maybe sm1 can enlighten me with a scientific answer. or explain how the speed sensor feedback to the front panel.

below is a table tested between a 2001 R1 and a 2001 KRR Kips 150

both have stock meters

R1 Kips

80kmh 100kmh

100kmh 125kmh

110kmh 140kmh

the speed however is largely uniform between 600rr,954rr, r1 and blackbird

wad i meant by largely, its jus riding side by side and comparing the speed

its an visual comparison, i cant say whether its 100%, but personally i feel is 98% close, bigger bikes wif digi meters more or less have the same display speed

this is jus my personal findings

pls do not take this as an accurate guide for u to adjust ur 2b bike speed "faster"

dun blame me if ur caught speeding

my conclusion is yes, bigger bikes wif digi meters has more uniform displayed speeds between themselves

i cant say whether its the true land velocity because theres no way to measure unless u have GPS or radar gun

but of cos, given the choice my bet for accurate speed will be on the big boys wif digimeters

i heard of pple tellin me their sp or krr can hit 220 or 240, i feel like tellin them go home sleep, cos it may jus be 180km or less on a bigger bike's meter

and yes its true, the higher the speed, the higher the inaccuracy

just put it simply, how much does the top end 2b bike cost? how much does a low end cl2 bike cost?

even when you go and buy lab meters you get a whole range of makes and models. why some meters costs hundreds or even thousands? why some can be gotten for the regions of $10 or less?

the rest you go figure why there's a difference.

The laser speed camera can detect your speed up to 2KM distance, they already clock you even before you can see the camera.

It is too late when you saw the camera and slow down....

Speedo inaccuracy does not only mean the speedo is at fault. There is definitely a margin of error on all speedometers. Errors on the speedo can be credited to the tyre pressure as well.

I dunno whether this is true. Those stationary speed camera seems that cannot capture bike speed accurately. I had on many times forgotten to slow down. *Touch Wood* A few times exceed by 20-30km/hr, go 120km/hr on a 90km/hr and nothing happened. From PIE heading Changi exit Bedok North also the same, if u guys noe, there is a Speed Warning Device, I had sped past vehicles, yet it almost always show that i was much slower than them. Not on 1 occasion only because i pass by daily.

Dunno whether is it these device cannot capture the speed accurately? Anyone with similar experience?

If he is infront of u on the overhead bridge and ur number plate on the front mudguard/fender , how to catch ur number plate if it is facing the sides ?

This is only disadvantage for cars and bikes who place the number plates facing the front.

crap. i also thought they revived their ops on the bridge along TPE. i travel there every single day man. don't scare me can?
