1. The iTunes store is not available in Singapore (as of now).

If you try to access it, it will detect you're from Singapore, and won't grant you access.

EDIT: Somebody has suggested the use of iTunes Gift Cards (see here)

So purchase or get your music elsewhere, then drag em all into iTunes.

There are tons of pay-per-song websites to where you can get mp3s too.

2. Not too sure what this means...what's the situation now -- you can't play mp3's on your iPod or on your computer with iTunes installed?

redbeacon, thanks for the info. Yes, I can play mp3 on my Ipod when I uploaded them from my PC which I downloaded elsewhere. But the problem now is, I'm trying to find a good and legal source to download my songs and I don't mind paying for it. And too bad, Itunes is not available in Singapore. That sucks big time. Might as well don't sell Ipod/Iphone here. And somemore yesterday saw a huge line at Singtel Centre queueing up for the Iphone 3G, I think. So I think they should consider having Itunes in Singapore, I'm sure they will get all the sipports they need.

The problem with bringing overseas stores (such as iTunes) or manufactured products into a small and regulated country like Singapore is a possible infiltration into product monopoly. Companies (and authorities) here will do anything to compete or go out of their way to avoid 'oveseas imports' if their business livelihood is threatened.

But I'm sure the Apple Store will work something out in the future to gently enter into the Singapore market.

It's worth a mention that iTunes store is now live in Singapore. Check it out - English and Chinese songs
