Hi guys, I recently just got my ta200 sprayed Matt black. However

I did a really stupid thing.

There were some white stains on the fuel tank and I tried to use a wet clear

cloth to wipe it off but it just won't go away.

so I stupidly go and use a metal wax polisher and applied some of it on the affected area hoping that it will go away. It made the situation worse! Now instead of just a small area, it became patches of greyish colour. It seems that the wax has "eaten" up the Matt black finish. The greyish area

are now smooth instead of the rougher surface on the Matt finish

Any expert please advice me what to do??

or try to polish the whole tank to look the same as this smooth greyish colour? maybe with the whole tank looking that way may actually be nice?

Maybe you can sketch some nice design based on 2 different color tones, matt black and grey, and start polishing the design out?

since there's already a dent you might want to consider sending it to shop so that they can knock it back.. price depending on how bad is the knock, design of paintwork and shop.

Actually, there is a way that might just work!

Wet Sanding the bright shiny patch.

Use 1000 grid sand paper that you can buy from hardware shop and wet sand it. thats how the car work shop do it to roughen surface for clear coat.

nothing to loose right? all the best!

u sand the tank is equivalent to getting rid of the paint.

yea that is correct. using 1000 grid sand paper to wet sand will only remove microns of paint. if not confident then use 2000 grid also can. even more fine.

i know the idea seem funny. but because oil compound from his wax during his rescue efforts have sipped into the matt paint job thus making it shine. To rid that, this method works just wipe dry aftr that and end of story.

If it was to remove blurry fine scratches from clear coated paint jobs, smooth peanut butter also can.

but in this case it is a matt finish so..wet sanding.
