and some of them can't even afford to eat at simple

places like fish & co or hk cafe & they tell me they're broke.

I believe quality counts.. if the branded one has a better quality i dun mind spending more to get a better quality one that can last longer..

Most brandedstuff really have quality.. Like those football jersey.. Fake Jersey often go out of shape, colour fade, print peel off.

 

Genuine LV leather can withstand naked fire from a lighter but not a counterfeit which will fade after using for 2 months, thread will come loose..

We should pay for something that is worth it. Imagine that you are an Enterpenuer and you design or created something that is usefull for daily use..

 

Yes as days go by you get richer, surely you wont want people to steal your design/creation just by imitating/replicating it..

 

We all complain about the cost of branded stuff.. But what pushes these things to that cost is demand..

 

In the end lets compare Iphone and China hiphone..

Looks almost the same but China Hiphone just feel like an ordinary touch screen phone with TV capability.

 

Someday some of you will become enterpenuer or someone rich then by then you will know how they feel... Not that i am rich or i invented something.. I am just an average Joe.. Shift work, always say yes boss, everyday must wake up early so that not late for work..

Doremo, i guess we share different ideologies.

 

I lose respect for girls who scrimp and save to buy a bag and after buying the bag, they have no money for other important things in life. then they go around showing off their bags. worse still when they carry the bag, they must be very very careful not to dirty it or scratch it becos it is expensive. that means even though they bought it , they cant truly afford it.

 

they chase the latest trends and brands but they cant really afford it even though they manage to buy it. what for?

I'm not saying your frens are like that, but if they are, then thats real sad....

 

To me, truly can afford means, dont need to bat an eyelid, if wanna buy, can simply buy. especially for daily items like bags. and please dont borrow to buy hor. thats even more lame.

 

standard of living has not risen that much but Singaporeans have simply become much more materialistic and rat-racing more.

 

Remember that real style cannot be bought with money and it is not wrong to carry a non branded bag.

That was WELL-SAID!! I used to be like that, after awhile, I didn't feel happy with those expensive stuff that I couldn't REALLY use (without worry), I sold them all.

 

Now I only buy what is truely affordable for me.

 

Known of a ger who go would step into LV to buy a bag and wallet while on the other hand beg & borrow from frens saying that she cant even afford to top up her ezlink card etc. This is damn pathetic.

 

I do not understand what's the pt of her showing off when most of time u can see tons of ppl carrying it.

 

Reminds me of a friend I had who'd drive us around and ask us to subsidise his petrol cost. I say don't drive if you can't pay for petrol or parking!

agree with you, i went out with one of my friend's friend together go clubbing quite a few times b4 already. this guy each time i see him, sure wear branded stuff, and keep talking abt branded stuffs that he going to buy or he bought.. so one day when we sharing to buy a beer tower after finishing our tower, i den ask him to share with us la.. since he also gt drink... and its not the 1st time he drink free liao... everytime go out with me and my friend.. i nv see him pay once b4.. so tat day i ask him to pay... inside the pub i was like asking him to fork out 20 bucks cn already.. but he tell me he no $$$... wah.. before that i told him i wanted to buy a fake burberry polo at batam which is quite cheap, cost around 10 sgd only. then he haolian tell me no $$$ dun buy fake stuff.. so i keep quiet la.. then when he tell me he no $$$ then inside the pub i say till very very loud.. " HUH!!! YOU WEAR BURBERRY , FRED PERRY BUT YOU TELL ME YOU BROKE DON"T EVEN HAVE $20" then alot of ppl look at him.. from that day onwards... i just buy fake branded stuff, wear and throw.. is not i cant afford.. i just dun like the feeling that u are pay so much more for just a brand..

Nope , I rather carry normal bags , wallets , etc ... than to carry a fake and embarrass myself . If you can't afford it , just get something of a reasonable price and not a fake .
