IPSC is fun! But not much in singapore, go to Thailand, anyway, in singapore, the cheapest alternative is air rifle/ air pistol!

Wrap around sunglasses with a tinted, yellow and clear lense are the best for shooting, I currently using one by a brand called "BlackHawk".

Illegal in singapore now. Almost impossible to find, unless "collectors" willing to sell. Back when Singapore use to sell them at mama shops, low quality crap like "double eagle", and all those cheap Chinese made pellet guns.

If you wanna enjoy airsoft, I recommend the CDANS air gun range, it is really cheap. But you need to get a proficiency certification first!

Cheers

As per the news article, you can try out the "real" action for about $100.00 at the National Shooting Center at Lim Chu Kang Range. They organise sampler shoots (4 types of firearms on every last weekend of the month for potential members or curious folk. You can contact the Singapore Shooting Association to enquire.

It can be quite expensive with 9mm going for about 40cents a pop( not mentioned weapon cost, procedural costs and storage costs) so be prepared if you decide to take up this sport/hobby.

A less expensive shooting hobby would be Archery (arrows are recyclable :cheer: )

and it is NOT easy either, so hitting the bull is just as Challenging.

Ya man, have to agree, my whole life, only took one medal for archery, Bronze at NUS open shoot last year.

Archery is alot cheaper, my bow only cost about $120, my arrows, bought 2nd hand at $80.

Anyway, used to love the idea of carrying a firearm, now for "a certain reason" I hate it...

Cheers

In Singapore you need to be a policeman to carry a firearm in public or a soldier on duty, BUT you cannot carry the weapon of your choice, unless the issued firearm just happens to be your dream come true ( better go buy 4D :goodluck: ).

Firing one, experiencing the recoil and smelling the gun powder and seeing the "damage" a bullet does is not what a vast majority of singaporeans ever get to experience - despite national service (newbies don't get mislead, being in the armed forces is no guarantee you get to fire so many firearms as listed in earlier posts, only a fortunate few get the chance to do so ).

As a private individual, you can own a firearm(after you are cleared to do so by the relevant authorities) BUT you can never have it with you outside the Range where it has to be stored except when there are competitions overseas which you are partaking in ( special arrangements will be made ).

I have fired my fair share of weapons in the army but sometimes its nice to pop off some rounds at my convenience, just started archery too ( I find both disciplines have got their own challenges and rewards).

Cheers,

Just Pop By Singapore Gun Club and be a Member. You can own Shotgun and pistol.

As long as you are crime free and keen to shoot. You can even be a crow culling shooter...........Well, that is like getting a class 2B, then all the way to class 2.

I have joined Singapore Gun Club for a while, if you are keen to shoot, I am able to esort you in.

Just pay money and shoot, that all.

Air soft weapons, namely BB guns, etc. are extremely illegal in Singapore, had a friend who was caught in a random check with a Beretta M93R, and was fined a substantial amount!

You know when you arrive at Changi airport, and after collecting your bagguage at the carousel? Then you walk out and there will be these customs officials who will sometimes ask you to go over to check your bags? He was picked up there.
