Need Help on IPhone 3GS

Dear all,

 

My wife is using the new 3GS iphone. This is the first time we are exploring iphones and we are facing some problems here. I would like to seek some helps from you guys on some software (s/w) and some application (app) stuff which we are stuck with.

 

Ok currently this iphone is stock. (i.e not jailbreak)

 

1) Is it true that iphone you can transfer your SIM-card contacts to the iphone, but you are unable to transfer from iphone to SIM-card?

 

2) We try to sync custom ringtones onto iphone. But when we try to sync say 4 songs, the iphone only appear to have 1 on the custom ringtones column.

 

3) Applications installed suddenly cant be used until you login to itune. Which i knw that once you are login to itune, you are using wireless connections.

 

These are the current problems i have and i hope some of you out there using the phone can help me. Thanks alot

I think i might be able to help you.

I'm not too good with iphone as well but i think i know some answers to your qns.

 

Qn 1) I think you can do it both ways. Plug your iphone to your desktop/laptop and see from itunes where are your contacts synced to.

for example, i sync it with windows contacts. i think you can try it out. (:

 

Qn 2) My iphone currently has 5 customed ringtones. I've the programme but it only allows 30s maximum duration. All you need to do is cut the part you want out from the song and the programme will convert it to the rightful format and put it in your itunes. It will fall in the category, ringtones. After that you can sync those ringtones into your iphone.

 

Qn 3) My apps are working fine. Once i've sync them into my iphone, it works fine. I don't need to login into itunes in order to play them in my iphone. You might wanna try it again.

 

If you still can't solve it. You can try hardwarezone under the iphone section and seek help there. (:

 

Regarding the customised ringtones. Do drop me a PM if you need the programme i'm using and see if it actually suits your preference. (:

Hey hallucinating, thanks for your reply. My wify solve the probs already :D:D

 

1) Well somehow or rather she try to use gmail to solve it.

 

2) Ya i knw abt the prog to cut the custom song to 30s max. We using itune to do that actually. And its great cos i can custom the songs chorus that i like and use it on my nokia. Hee hee hee. didnt knw nokia also read .acc files. damn im dumb hahaha.

 

3) Hmmmm as for this issue mabbe you haven encounter this prob. But we manage to solve it after reading the iphone forum. There are alot of users having the same prob. Mabbe i share it with you just in case.

 

They say that if you encounter prob (3), just go to app store and just download any free s/w and it will go back to normal. You can still uninstall the app after that. Well they say that this is a bug. Mabbe if touch wood you encounter it you can try it too.

 

Thanks alot bro. Hope that more iphone users can share new probs and solutions here. Mabbe things like jail breaking, wats the aftermath if things were to go wrong with the proceedure.

Wow thanks guys. to me i think if you are not into having a phone that you need to do alot, best is dun get an iphone seriously. I find this phone is quite technical hahaha.

Did you crash your springboard?

Try resetting the iPhone by pressing the home and top button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Cheers.

hv to charge it continously even tho its nt charging for few hrs...

den i try wat bro owen & forestfly told me, n charge it bck n nw its bck to normal again...

Too many applications running on the background. It's either you reboot the OS or during app running, force shut it by holding on to the top right button until the shut down screen appear, then hold the home button until the shut down screen disappear.
