What year is that TW200?

Hi all..im looking for an old model TW200,have made a post in the sale request section. Nonetheless,i'm trying to see if anyone here can solve my doubts because more scrams experts are here:)

I think nobody can tell unless U open up the coil or check the frame vin number.

 

The mod is too much already. Even when stock. the only way to tell is by the original paint scheme.

 

TW200 never change much in the last 30 years. Since 1987.

 

However, there are some "characteristics" different.

 

1987~1989

 

Front and rear DRUMS brakes. Kickstart. Coil is the older type 2 phrase system. I don't really understand much about 2 phrase. Just know that the 3 phrase is more efficient. And you cannot out a 3 phrase coil into this models.

 

1989~1997 (?)

 

Still the same as previous. But coil is the 3 phrase type.

 

1998(?)~200(?)

 

Front disc, rear drums. No kick starter (But can add on.) Just that factory decide not put the kickstarter in. But all the mounts parts are still there.

 

2010

 

Same as above. But according to the service/parts manual, it seems to say that kickstarter is back. But it haven't reach our shore yet. I do hope it will be available soon and kickstarter is back.

 

Almost every year, they will release new colour.

 

I only know the 2009 and 2010 colours

 

2009. White base, black words and grey pattern.

 

2010 White base , black words and red pattern. The pattern is just a very small paintbrush swooshs like design.

Hi guys -i sincerely seek to have some advise on the Tw200 (06) battery issue ..despite i have changed a new one ( bec its could not start after stop) --its started off ok ( in idling mode with button starter) but after get into 1st and 2nd gear on the move ( less than 50 meter) --the whole engine just die off ...and then its could not start any more

-May i know what can be the possible issue ?

-Does any one have this experiences before ?

 

work shop guys told me seem to be very complex -saying engine timing is out / CDI may be spoil / starter coil can be failure

 

so i am really not sure what he is trying to advise --eventually he told me that he might take out the whole engine --o my god!!! --this is amazing feed back fm this work shop located on the west side

Hi Honduras;

i do not stay in the west ( i stay in the east) --but during my case of incident ( fm the bike break down issue ) when i went back to my mum house that she stay in the west ...so this is what i learned fm its during my bike break down --i send its to this west side work shop for emergency reason ...But all this while i was servicing in HONG LEONG ( UBi Rd) -Yamaha agent ....

So far their service provide to be professional in their parts / and skill ...u can be very sure their price is sliglthly higher then outside but they have all the parts in stock as much as 80% of each model of yamaha bike ...that they are selling now
